not sure folks are against hurts but we have seen that upperclassman who have been in the system longer seem to make better decisions. That is not to say that the younger player is not a better athlete, but there is a reason NS has never started a true freshman at Alabama. This may be the year if Bateman makes poor decisions and cant move the O.

We have won 4 natties in 7 years because NS's makes the right decisions.

Alabama was back on the practice field Friday afternoon for its 23rd practice of the fall and first day of USC install. The Crimson Tide players practiced outdoors and in shells on a mostly-sunny, 93-degree afternoon.

Here are several tidbits from the media viewing portion of Alabama's Friday practice session in Tuscaloosa:

- After 21 practices, there was a noticeable change along what appears to be the first-team offensive line. Bradley Bozeman lined up at center, while Ross Pierschbacher moved over to right guard. Cam Robinson was at left tackle, Lester Cotton was at left guard and Jonah Williams was at right tackle -- just like we have seen the last 21 practice sessions.

- The second-team offensive line was comprised of, from left to right, Matt Womack, Dallas Warmack, JC Hassenauer, Alphonse Taylor and Korren Kirven. Nick Saban said Taylor would be day-to-day with an injury.

- Inside linebacker Rashaan Evans did not appear to be doing much in one period of individual drills.

- I did not spot inside linebacker Joshua McMillon during the one media viewing period Friday.

- A few scout-team numbers dotted the practice field Friday afternoon. They were linebacker Mekhi Brown wearing No. 45 (DE Porter Gustin), defensive lineman Johnny Dwight wearing No. 44 (DT Malik Dorton) and running back Lawrence Erekosima wearing No. 22 (RB Justin Davis).

- Several walk-on wide receivers and defensive backs also wore Nos. 1, 2 and 9, representing USC playmakers Darreus Rogers, Adoree Jackson and Juju Smith-Schuster, respectively.

*** What’s next: Alabama will return to practice Saturday at 2:30 p.m. CT for its final practice before game week.

You guys crack me up so many experts on here I am so glad this is a free site. Read into it how you want but it seems every year now the same posters come in here and throw the returning QBs under the bus for the new flavor. We heard the same shite last year that since Coker could not beat out Sims the year before he sucked and many screamed for the new guy just like the year before that.

Saban will put us in the best position to win but just because the experts and their opinion always seems to think the grass is greener each year I guess I am wrong for not criticizing current players.

I have never posted anything against Hurts and I actually hope he gets the job. Just because so many like to assume is on you. I am only against those that want to bash a player on the roster.

This is the forum that I've been reading
LINK

It's....interesting an example

quote:

Can we score or move the chains like Clemson did in the Championship game on Bama's defense? This will tell the story. If Helton & Tee puts together a game plan like Dabo Swinney did against Bama in the championship game we will win this game. If Helton and Tee come in with a game plan like Clay's mediocre one against Wisconsin in the Holiday Bowl we'll get our asses handed to us. That being said, I have a good feeling that Clancy is going to rip into Lane and Bama's offense with major pressure from multiple angles. By the time Lane figures out what Clancy is doing hopefully the game will be out of hand. First game of the season should definitely be to our advantage not Bama's. All this talk about how good Saban is doesn't mean a can of beans if SC comes in with a great game plan. Saban "D" coordinator is the coach of Georgia and the new personal will make a lot of mistakes if SC "O" puts pressure on them from the get go. At the end of the day, we have a lot of advantages going into this game but it's up to the coaches to use these advantages to win the game. Another thing, if we come into this game believing we can play Bama close opposed to we can beat Bama we will lose this game. You have to come into this game knowing that you can knock Bama the **** out!!! Fight On and Role the Tide.

this is easy to understand. Bozeman is more than likely the back up center so they are given him reps there until serious game week prep. NS likes to find his best 7 lineman and cross train them. I would imagine in a worst case situation Bozeman cold prolly play tackle.

When the hell did I say I was an expert? You're the one who thinks you know everything and are trying to piss on anyone's parade that isn't supportive of Bateman being starter

Btw, we didn't see the same thing last year. Last year the true freshman blew it on the second scrimmage and was completely out of the race. This year the true freshmsn according to reports has been the most impressive and had the best second scrimmage out of all QBs. So far he has earned reps in the first game. That didn't happen any year before this one... so stop being a debbie downer.

Where have I said anything in regards to who should start or who should not. I have only posted info that I have heard on the radio from people like Cecil Hurt, R Bartow, Niebhur and Simmons. Not once have I stated who was better not even have I given my opinion on the QB battle.

The only thing I have said towards this is I am against those who will bash a player on our team.

And in regards to what I have posted from those I mentioned here was all pro Hurts.
