Tino Sunseri is leaving Tennessee and joining the staff, according to his Twitter post. Joining Sal and Vinnie.

Micheal on Twitter saying butch Jones will be on the field position. Everyone is asking him how is that possible.

I think Michael @Mike4172 is wrong about Butch Jones being on-field.

Major Applewhite is interviewing for an analyst spot as well.

Funny, he was underqualified for OC there in 2007, now he's overqualified to be an analyst

Oh wow, that would be a shocker. I figured Mack Brown would have found a spot for him

Applewhite honestly makes a lot of sense as an analyst. I wouldn't want him as my playcaller, but he seems like a good guy to have on the bench to be the QB coach next year?

Not sure if it makes a difference but he and Scott Cochran were either 1 year apart or in the same grade at Catholic High in BR

He was essentially a glorified GA when Saban hired him in 2007, had 1 year of OC experience and 2 years removed from actually being a GA. Todd Graham also had a lot of control of that offense at Rice, despite what his defensive background would suggest.

Now he has actually cut his teeth as an assistant, even being a HC. Houston's administration is very cutthroat, he wasn't gonna last because they had high expectations to continue Tom Herman's success.

He's a solid assistant, just his hiring as OC in 2007 showed how bad Bama was perceived then. It would have been like hiring Clint Trickett as OC in 2019.

Sheeite! We gotta hella stable of "analysts" at our disposal. Mike Stoops, who can probably help us dissect what Riley is trying to do if we run into OU again, and Applewhite, who used dual threat D'eriq King to make Houston's offense a scoring machine. And both former head coaches. We have an arsenal of coaching acumen at our disposal now.

I think it's more of getting in guys to break down your own tendencies as much as anything else....plus Stoops and Venerables are former colleagues, yeh???

It's hard to keep this in perspective, but this is 100% accurate. Not to mention everyone assumed Saban was gonna be at bama for 3-5 years tops, so assistants would've been signing up for a 3 year stint for a school that at the time was pretty mediocre.

Option 1: Inexperienced intern analyst staffer.

Option 2: Experienced coach you pay an intern salary because he's collecting a buyout.
