It's hilarious. I've been firmly team Jalen since he took over. I haven't been posting much lately so I guess I missed where we can't criticize him.

Because the criticism doesn't really check out.

If you watched the whole first half, and your first thought was "jalen was arse" then you will get some flack.

Jalen definitely hasn't looked very good today. Then again, we haven't really tried to establish the passing game but made a half-hearted attempt toward the end of the first half. The throw to Harris stood out negatively.

We aren't asking him to be Tom Brady but I don't think it's asking much four games into the season to connect on a couple of deep throws.

This. I’m not saying Jalen can’t play. His feet are deadly. Great composure. But if you don’t think his passing is mediocre at best you’re just a Jelen Hurts homer who can’t admit the kids weak points

Jalen's had good protection today so they need to call some deep passes and see what he can do.

Criticize the bad throws or a poor decision, no problem but criticisms that can't be backed up with factual evidence should be challenged - and those (don't think it was you) who are saying he has played poorly are firmly in that category.

I did notice on that last drive where he scrambled for a 10 yard gain out of bounds that our WRs had ZERO separation down field.

Jalen went through his reads and made the right decision to tuck it and run.

I would like to see Jalen not be so careful with the ball sometimes like other QBs are against us. I wonder if our WRs can make those circus catches.

8 for 74 and no TD's at the half where we are running for 10 yards a carry. There should be guys open all over the place with how we are running it.

I wouldn't mind seeing him try to force it in a game like this even if it gets picked, but you know danged well Saban's preached taking care of the ball since the day he stepped on campus. I don't know if you can just mentally turn that switch off....

We're trashing them 31-0 and people are still finding something to complain about regarding the QB.

I mean we scored every drive except two. One where the ref wrongly called Harris down and the other where he was pressured amd threw a bad ball..

This obsession is crazy

It is amazing.

I don't think poorly is the right word. I used frustrating and I'll stick with it. With how well our Oline has been blocking and how much breathing room our RBS are giving Jalen I did expect him to throw the ball deep a couple times.

Vandy's defensive strength is it's secondary. I think their top five guys are all seniors. Not saying they are crazy talented but they are very experienced guys who have played a lot of football against high-level competition. I wasn't expecting us to go crazy passing it, but we've missed on a couple chances for sure.

Hurts has played well. He has done what has been asked of him. He over threw Foster early. It happens. Ridley drops a TD. Un-Ridley like. Other than that has made most of his throws with a few he would want back. All in all a good game so far. The offense hasen't asked him to gun sling today. No need.

Not sure why every week this board goes into full whine mode about Hurts when we should be totally pumped about the way we handle teams even when we don't bring our A game. For those who keep calling for Tua he will never start this season unless Hurts goes down but instead he will play garbage time -- late 3rd qtr onwards (same as it's been for many seasons prior to this one when it comes to backup QB playing time).

This.

I wish we would call a deep pass and tell Jalen before the play to throw it no matter what. If it's picked, no big deal. Incomplete? Who cares? Touchdown? Awesome.

Basically the passes we saw in the spring game.

They are playing a safety over the top.

You expect him to force balls down field into bad coverage?
