So what do you guys think our strategy will be for containing Watson? There's the "mush rush" approach and then there's the "go get him" approach. I'm not sure which one scares me less. On the one hand, I feel like Saban and company, in past years have given these types of QB's TOO much respect. The mush rush has allowed some of them to stand around back there long enough to make plays. Sometimes I think we have the best athletes on the field and should just turn them loose. On the other hand, Nick Saban is pretty good at football coaching stuff and might know what he's doing. I guess I'd just like to see Williams, Allen, etc putting Watson on his arse behind the LOS all night. But, can they do it?

A Clemson fan I know from another site just posted that their star CB, Mackensie Alexander, might be out or severely limited due to a hamstring injury that hasn't healed up yet.

Send the rush after him, make him scramble. If he decides to tuck it and run have Reuben Foster and Reggie Ragland waiting on him.

I loved seeing us keep the Safeties deep vs Sparty.

You are correct, he is about 50% on passing when he scrambles. I like those odds.

I say we attack their injured DE, or whoever is recovering from a sprained MCL, early. Run right at him, make him push off on that leg, maybe cut block him a few times. Sprained MCLs are a bitch.

CB, Mackensie Alexander
He pulled up late in the game against OU if I remember correctly so it may still be nagging him.

I watched Travis Rudolph (FSU WR that has stone hands) have one of his best games against Clemson this year so I'm expecting Ridley. OJ and Stewart to have success whether Alexander is limited or 100%.

I also watched Dalvin Cook (FSU RB and he was hurt), Syracuse's backup QB and RB, USCe QB and RB all have success against Clemson as well so I'm thinking that Coker, Henry, Ridley, and Drake are going to have significantly more success than they did. Throw in OJ and Stewart and they are going to have a tough time stopping our offense.

On defense, their WRs are mostly shorter so Clemson only has one WR that is 6'5" that could be trouble, the rest are same size or shorter than our guys. Even if we have to blitz, I still can't see Watson having the time to get the ball to their receivers. FSU's defense held him in check for the 1st Half and then was worn out due to lack of depth and experience. Bama's D should be fine.

We, FSU, played with a decent QB and decent receivers against them, Bama has a better QB, Ridley is elite. OJ is a mismatch and Stewart can be trouble, so I'm not as worried about us passing the ball if Clemson does sell out to stop the run.

I think that Clemson is good, not great. I think that we are going to beat them as badly if not worse than we did ND and MSU providing we don't turn the ball over a ton of times, even then I think we win by a touchdown or better.

Roll Tide.

Can someone explain to me why I should be worried about Deshaun Watson on the ground? He's got like 1k yards and 12 TDs in a rinky dink ACC reg season schedule.

Cam and Johnny burned us and the rest of the SEC and had over 20 rush TDs and several hundred more yards than Deshaun. That;s they type of QB that has given us fits.

We hardly had any film on Cardale, and certainly not anything of him doing his best Newton 2.0 gash down the middle and into the red zone.

So, someone, articulate a reason as to why Deshaun Watson is good enough to sniff the taint of this defense.

WHile I agree with you as well, this is a pretty good read if you have the time...too many good quotes to paste them here.
