I'm well past saying "this is where they turn it around" but that was a pretty damn huge win. Haven't had many of those this season.

This Pirates series should be as sweepable a series as we have all season with the pitching matchups. The Braves aren't very good and aren't very consistent so I don't expect to see it, but 2/3 is pretty clearly a must.

They need to go 4-2 or better over the next 6, head into the break with a winning record, and try to hang around until they can hopefully add someone like one of the Martes, Gallo, or Haniger at the deadline. There probably isn't a 90 win team in this division, so all it would take is one good month to win it.

Yep - this Pirates series.........it's gonna hurt bad when we blow our wad and lose 2/3

Monday - Fried (4.16 ERA, 3.92 FIP, 106 ERA+) vs De Jong (5.65 ERA, 5.21 FIP, 73 ERA+)

Tuesday - Anderson (3.35 ERA, 3.38 FIP, 132 ERA+) vs Kuhl (5.16 ERA, 5.65 FIP, 79 ERA+)

Wednesday - Smyly (4.42 ERA, 5.13 FIP, 100 ERA+) vs Crowe (6.26 ERA, 5.84 FIP, 65 ERA+)

Those are 3 atrocious pitchers

So what you're saying is that we are going to score 9 runs in the series and 7 of them will be in one game.

Yes, that is correct. Or score a bunch of runs and also give up a bunch of runs.

Not sure which one, but one of them.

Also, while we have these 3 games in Pittsburgh and Miami...

- Mets @ Yankees (1), vs Brewers (3), vs Pirates (4)

- Phillies @ Cubs (4), @ Red Sox (3)

- Nationals @ Padres (4), @ Giants (3)

Would be cool if the Yankees would stop being so gawd daym awful tonight.

Ideal scenario heading to the ASB.......

- Braves go 4-2
- Mets go 4-4
- Nationals go 2-5
- Phillies go 2-5

Mets 47-40
Braves 45-44 (3.0 GB)
Nationals 42-47 (6.0 GB)
Phillies 41-47 (6.5 GB)

Stick around like that and the 5 game series at Shea July 26-29 is going to be wildness.

Donnie Dipshit is as terrible a manager as is a person. It takes a lot for me to wish injury on someone, but if benches clear the next time those goons throw at Ronald, and there will be a next time, I will be extremely disappointed if someone doesn't get a clean shot in on Mattingly.

Amen

(1) I don't think Lopez was throwing at Ronald and don't think he should have been ejected.

(2) However.......every one of these 1st inning pitches that hits Ronald hits him up at his face or in his shoulder blades. The "we gotta throw inside" bullshite is a joke. Those aren't little misses on pitches for strikes inside. They are intended to be way in. Hit him? I dunno, but they aren't misses on balls trying to hit the black.

(3) Snit handled it perfectly. He came out and said what all of us were thinking - enough of this shite. He just vented about it and Mattingly can suck a fat dick if he has a problem with that. He's sick and fvckin tired of seeing his kid get hit up around his neck and head by the same damn team over and over again.

(4) Mattingly's post-game press conference was fvckin embarrassing. "Soroka threw at O'Brien on purpose and broke his ribs" was proven to both be a joke (the replay makes it clear it wasn't on purpose both on pitch, placement, time of game, players involved, score, etc) and completely untrue within about 90 seconds of him saying it (O'Brien didn't break his ribs, played like 7 more games before going on the IL AND signed with the BRAVES in the offseason he was so mad at them).

If they'd stop hitting Ronald with 1st pitches up at his upper back/lower neck then this wouldn't be a problem anymore. They made this bed with all the Urena bullshite which Mattingly CLEARLY had no issue with, now they can fvckin lie in it. shite, after a playoff game last year Alcantara said he would fight Acuna (after he gave up a jack to him and then HIT HIM).

Also - I learned today that MLBTV has a feature where you can watch the game while listening to the radio feed synced into the MLBTV feed of the game............That in an of itself convinced me to pay like $5 a month for a VPN connection to scramble my location and watch all the games on MLBTV with the radio crew instead of listening to Chip and a worse every damn game Tom Glavine.

Today was so, so, so much better.

He all but confessed that Urethra did it on purpose the other day even though he vehemently denied it at the time. Did you see the Jomboy video? At the start he played all the times the Marlins have hit Acuña, and they're all the exact same thing. First pitch of the AB, catcher sets up for an up and in fastball, they hit him in the upper arm/back.

I saw a tweet today that tells you all you need to know. Since 2010 Acuña is the only player to have been hit on the first pitch of a game 3+ times. The Marlins have been the team that hit him every one of those times. Honestly I think Lopez did do it on purpose. Alfaro set up for them to buzz the tower. His reaction was because he wanted to plant it on his ribs and put it somewhere that could have seriously hurt him.

You don’t like Chip getting excited about every fly ball the Braves hit?
