Mostly positives from me:

The defense was set when the ball was snapped. Already an improvement over the town drunkard we’ve had on the sideline for the past few years.

The defense also rallied to the football and attacked ball carriers - more basic fundamentals we didn’t see under Golding.

I thought Dippre showed some signs of play making ability that Latu didn’t have.

Edge rusher looks like it may still be the strength of the team.

The coverage was better with the ball in the air. Last year, we had way too many PI penalties- most of them warranted calls.

Players who showed well: Campbell, Moore, Henderson, Proctor, Eboigbe, Downs, Haynes, Pope, Story

Negatives:

Pritchett looks more like a guard to me than a left tackle. He struggled against speed rushes.

The B-team offensive line was rough other than Proctor. Other than the first drive, Lonergan had no shot behind that group.

Drops. Too many drops. I’m fed up with Burton.

I shudder to think what the reaction would have been if Dallas, Lawson and Braswell had played. Pritchett needs to up his game or like you said maybe move inside. Proctor looks the part. I think that he will be in the starting line up at some point.

Pritcett wasn't 100 percent.

Honestly the biggest maybe surprise take away…pope can play. Like I mean looked the part of a starter out there.

Yeah Pope looked like a stud. Earl Little Jr does too. DBs are gonna be a strength on this team. Hopefully that translates to strong ST coverage units too.

Did anybody notice our punter? I saw he got a spring practice award for being most improved (I think). Certainly lots of room to get better.

I think our defense and special teams will be good. Offense will come down to whether we can find a QB and LT. feel good about all other positions.

Latham could move to LT and then we would need a RT

Yep, I’m thinking Proctor reshapes his body this summer, drops some bad weight, adds some good weight and takes a starting spot. Pritchett was unimpressive and actually looked a bit small to me out there compared to our other OL and DL.

Is it possible that Pritchett gains good weight this summer and improves ?

Q Robinson blew by Pritchett one play almost untouched and went back to give him words of encouragement … didn’t look good from the plays I focused on him . Hopefully he improves or moves inside

I liked the versatility I saw from the inside linebackers. It should allow us to matchup well with whatever we face. Jefferson looks like he was made in a lab and noticed some good man coverage from him. Campbell has the ability to be the best of the bunch, and Marshall is the old head that should be our well rounded guy.

Christian Harris was a good player, but never really flashed in coverage like he was expected to given his HS background. Im hoping Jefferson is who we thought harris would be.

Biggest concern is the receivers. I know the athletic ability is there, but we’re going to need those guys to bail out whomever the QB is a lot this year. Whether that’s getting wide open or making contested catches. Brooks is the only guy I’ve seen that can catch one in a tight window. I think Law can be that guy. Prentice and Bond need to take that next step though and round out their game.

Overall im pretty optimistic about the defense as a whole. Should be athletic and disruptive. I think we’ll have the best corner tandem in the country. The offense has a long way to go

Malik Benson is going to be a huge safety valve for the new QB. The guy is a stud. I also liked what I saw from the tight ends. Niblack, Dippre and Danny Lewis look really impressive. We also have Outzs returning this year. Running backs are freaking loaded, too.

Earl Little Jr is going to an All American, I don’t think we’ve had a coverage star like him since Minkah.

I don’t doubt the stories we’re hearing about Benson, but he didn’t flash in the spring game to me.

He was great on the last drive, but they also had Roper who I think is a walk-on in coverage on him.

I’m not sure if it was to build QB confidence or just to let some guys see the field, but near the end of the game, we emptied the bench in the secondary.

It's really amazing how much stock people put into the A Day game. I mean, there's a reason why he was rated the #1 JUCO player and Saban was lavishing praise on him in a PC. I'll reserve judgment until the season.

Earl Little, Jr. is a terrific player. I don't doubt for a minute that he would've played a larger role last year if not for his shoulder injury that sidelined him half of the season.

For me, he's Nikita Stover until proven otherwise
