7 out of 13 years in the NCG.

Two more years was in a semifinal game, 08 and 14. I know the 08 SEC Championship Game wasn't an official semifinal game, but the winner of that game was assured a spot in the BCS National Championship Game. So that is 9 out of 13.

In 2013 Bama miss out on a spot in the BCS Championship Game by blowing the the Iron Bowl on the last day of the regular season.

Last year, Bama pretty much did the same thing. Blew a playoff spot by blowing the Iron Bowl. OU had no business being ahead of Bama had Bama beaten Auburn.

That is 11 out of 13 seasons in which Bama was either NC, in the playoffs, or lost the regular season finale to miss out on the playoffs or BCS NCG.

Throw out the rebuilding year in 07 and that would make it 11 out of 12 years, which is unheard of.

It also gets tossed around a bit in conversation, but having more first-round draft picks (33) versus losses (23) over that span is absolutely insane.

And six of those losses (26%) came during that first season.

A year in which he had ZERO draft picks in ANY round.

17 losses in 12 seasons. Damn, we are truly spoiled.

When you can literally vividly remember every loss over the course of 12 years, you know that you are in a really special run.

From 2008 on, pretty much every loss Alabama has had has been treated as some extraordinary college football season/landscape defining event.
