Coaching at Purdue and making a national title game, and then coaching at Texas Tech is not "kindergarten."

You guys got your googling fingers out and start post Paul Finebaum material. She's been at Alabama since the Grant years and haven't won anything outside of beating a mid major. Every year the top talent in Alabama goes elsewhere. You're celebrating a sweet sixteen victory as though we beat U Conn. North Carolina was not a top tier team. Lmao! Making it to the tournament one time is not going to guarantee success next year. She's been here since 2013, if she was the men's basketball or the football coach she would've been gone. Maybe 133-117 in eight years is what some of you call success! Lmao!

Have you actually paid attention to the women lately? They've beaten lots of good teams the last 2-3 years, both at home and on the road.

We didn't win or get to the Sweet 16.

Yea, we know, and if she doesn't get back to the tournament next year and/or the next year then her job will be in jeopardy. You seem to want to pre-emptively fire her for not getting to the tournament next year.

Nobody in men's basketball or football has ever had to take over what she took over.

The closest comparison would be Coach Bo in baseball, and he's been given PLENTY of slack.

That's all I got on this topic, feels like it has been exhausted.

Hope the women are good next year in a rebuilding year. If they fall off the map then there will rightfully be some discussion of what to do moving forward. Either way, the program will be LIGHT YEARS more attractive than it was when Curry took over.

Is it time for Kristy Curry to part ways with the program? The women basketball team has been mediocrity

No. I think she’s done a great job.

Women’s basketball is the #3 or #4 sport at most schools and almost always the top women’s sport.

At Alabama, women’s basketball is significantly less popular than football, men’s hoops, softball, baseball and gymnastics. Even growing up an Alabama fan, there is no way I’d commit to Bama if I were top women’s basketball recruit.

Any coach that keeps that program from being an embarrassment is doing well especially until we get a new arena.

Firing anyone after the kind of 2 year turnaround she has had is a bad look for any university.

You're talking like we were the worst team in the SEC when she got here, which is far from the truth. What do you call a good teams? I know you're not talking about beating Tennessee. Lmao! Some of you are still calling Tennessee a good team. #NewsFlash The Pat Summit era been over. Lol! Jasmine Walker began her career at FSU like many of the other top females from the state that she can't recruit for some reason. You guys are celebrating a (*) sweet 16 appearance. Lol! Kristy Curry for Coach of the Year!

Alabama went 4-28 in the SEC the 2 years before she got here. We finished #11 our of 12 in the SEC in 2012 and tied for #14 out of 14 in 2013. So yes, we were LITERALLY the worst team in the SEC when she got here.

What are you talking about?

We used to get top talent and if you don't remember that then you're one of the ones I'm not talking to. You can't relate.

You can't even seem to remember what we were in 2012 or 2013, so maybe don't tell others what they can and can't remember.

Here is where we finished in the SEC in the 8 years before Curry arrived

2006: 11th out of 12 (3-11)
2007: 12th out of 12 (0-14)
2008: 12th out of 12 (1-13)
2009: 12th out of 12 (1-13)
2010: 11th out of 12 (4-12)
2011: 10th out of 12 (5-11)
2012: 11th out of 12 (2-14)
2013: T14th out of 14 (2-14)

We were the worst program in the SEC. Whatever you think you are remembering is false.

Quite frankly I don’t care what the program did 20+ years ago. Colorado and Georgia Tech won football national titles in the 90s.

College sports are a totally different game now.

I bet our women’s basketball program averages less than 2K attendance per game. Programs like UT, Miss State, South Carolina get closer to 10K. A coach can’t be expected to compete with that.

You apparently wouldn't know the worst program in the SEC if it hit you in the face.

But muh Rick Moody in 1995 when girls sports were basically still intramurals!

Let's put it this way - Rick Moody's last NCAA Tournament team was the same year Patrick Murphy was hired as softball coach. It was the first season Alabama softball ever made a NCAA regional. It was Alabama softball's 3rd year in existence.

That's how long ago that period of time was and how much has changed since then.

I can't tell if this is a redneck dipshit who saw on his notifications that Alabama women's basketball got blasted in the NCAA tournament and decided to start a thread complete with his "thoughts" based on what he remembers of women's basketball from like 27 years ago or some LSU alter who decided that starting a thread about women's basketball would be a great way to troll. I see no 3rd alternative.
