...and has also lost 7 of 26... that's a 70.3% winning percentage. Legacies aren't built on 9.5-3.5 seasons. It's good, but not great. Uga had a Deboer. His name was Mark Richt. Good, but not great. Great coaches don't fall from the sky. They are all locked in to contracts with their respective teams at the moment. NIL has put a damper on teams stockpiling talent and placed a premium on developing players. It's rarely the scheme that is lacking or inept playcalling. I just don't think we have an overall staff that can develop players throughout the year. This is the 2nd year in a row we have stumbled down the stretch. We have looked inadequate. That goes to coaching/conditioning. We are a banged up team with ill-prepared back ups. Again, Deboer is a good coach. He will never be great in the SEC. Just facts. He will always lose 3 or 4 games a year in the SEC, especially now that we are going to 9 conference games. Great coaches put together great staffs and good coaches put together good staffs. Great coaches get their staffs raided - like CNS did - and then they reload with good assistants that they then make in to great assistants. Kirby is the prime example of what he learned under CNS. Deboer will never be that. So yeah, 9-3 is a pretty good year.

Year 3 will tell the tale. I am very interested in what if any changes he makes on his staff.

Well, he'll have to make some changes since Shep left and took a bunch of analysts/assistants with him.
If Michigan winds up with Fisch, I imagine Grubb would be in the mix for the HC job at UW, so you might have some additional turnover there.

Excuse me, he went 7-6. Granted, he went 12-2 in 2008 but that was a weaker year for the conference to be quite honest.

People really don’t seem to understand the damage the portal did to depth after Saban’s retirement. The entire set up for the portal is not even the same in 2025.
Basically any coaching change that cycle was hit worse than those that came later. You had two portal windows plus the 30 day coaching change window. None of that exists now. It’s just a constant cycle of change right now. But at least it seems to be settling down.

JMO but if Bama hadn't lost Glen Coffee to BookGate, that bunch would have beaten MSU and ULM. The RB situation was really bad.
