I get that kids needs to be punished for stupid mistakes, but does anyone else feel like this suspension has been quite lengthy based on the charges?

Maybe he just wasn't doing everything the coaches asked him to do to make amends?

Hopefully, he will get his life together. I know it doesn’t really mean anything, but I would have much rather have seen a thumbs of than a thumbs down in that picture.

No, not even a little bit. He got off easy. If the incident went down as described in the media, he could’ve well been shot..

Yeah, I guess Dre deleted it. He tweeted "New profile pic" with a picture of him posing in his Bama uniform.

Guess we'll see if he's listed in the availability report.

He was charged with misdemeanors. What sort of punishment are you looking for here? As far as I can tell, he's a first-time offender.

Sure, if the police officers were idiots. Nothing described by the "media" would justify the use of deadly force.

Two officers got directly in front of his vehicle and he put his foot on the gas. This is not a kid skipping out on a check. The prosecution did he and society a disservice with the misdemeanor charge.

The other guy covered it nicely. If anyone, LE or not, is standing in front of your vehicle and you floor it, that’s an immediate justification for the use of deadly force in even the most liberal state.

He could have also been charged with a felony, so yes he got off easy by being charged with misdemeanors. Having no priors may have played into the prosecutor’s decision, and that’s appropriate but the potential for much more severe charges was on the table. As far as his team punishment goes, he’d be welcome back when he took care of the case, if he’s done that then I have no issue with him being reinstated.
