I never blame officiating. I think it's a lame excuse. But that was the most biased officiating I've ever seen in a football game. The only more biased officiating I've seen in any sport was the Sacramento Kings against the Lakers in the early 2000s, and some of the officials on that game wound up doing jail time for gambling on their own games.

That would be the back judge positioned under the goalpost at the start of the play. when UT threw the pass, He would have angled his way up to where he’s pictured as the return ensued. He may have thrown from there for accuracy purposes.

But he also has clean up responsibilities for the back side of the play and succeeding actions. And if KoolAid fumbles and the action reverses, he will then have goal line responsibility.

In the videos, if he is signaling incomplete, he’s rushing and giving a false signal, since the pass was clearly intercepted.

So he gives a false signal for something that clearly did not happen and a definitive signal (penalty flag) for what he thought he might have seen?
Whew.

Wouldn’t want to be him or the chain guy this morning. However both of them Might be able to go fishing this Saturday.

I meant they should both be embarrassed. The side official who passed on the MM PI was the same one who passed on the Isaiah Bond mugging with the PI and Face mask. Same guy was letting them play. WTH

If you watch the receiver, he sat on his butt dejected. Never once did he make a motion to suggest he thought it was PI. He just sat there.

We played like shite on defense and deserved to lose that game, but the “pi” call, the “targeting” call, the “early” whistle on the fumble, and the mishap with the chain guy were things that happened in ONE game lol… How was Moore’s play more impactful to a receiver than the no call against Burton when the DB grabbed his back down the middle?

More than that. Just look at the UT crowd. They weren’t even calling for PI.

The game was over.

How do you go from calling the pass incomplete to a PI?

The PI is your first and only call.

Not only that he couldn't see it was intercepted but saw a PI??

Someone posted the UT receiver was selling the PI. Looks more dejected like a beaten man to me. Back judge intervened.

Will be interesting to see if the SsEC office makes a statement Wednesday.

This happens WAY to much not just in Bama games , there needs to be a rule that keeps them from being able to make calls that they are not in position to make

I have no clue a) how that is pass interference,

So you didn't notice all the posts in that twitter thread of the photo of Moore's arm wrapped aroind the WR.

Yeah, it was PI. And yeah, the flag came out way late by the back judge, who probably didn't have a good look.

This is what I've been arguing since Saturday night. In the end, it doesn't change anything. We lived by the sword; must accept death by the same.

Having an arm wrapped around a receiver doesn’t make it PI.

Seems much more likely than a conspiracy.

I don’t think there’s any kind of conspiracy. I do think there’s some bias thing going on mixed in with incompetence.

Yes, a very good case can be made that the "arm wrap" was PI. However, that case cannot be made for the Back Judge making the call. The arm wrap was on the opposite side of the WR's body from the Back Judge's perspective. His X-ray vision would need to have seen thru the WR's body and quite possibly the body of Kool-Aid. I am not sure I can accept that the Back Judge is in fact the real Superman.

The refs should be embarrassed on many levels and suspended. And the SEC should extend an apology directly to Young and Alabama.

May be going a little far... but I'll allow it.
