John Metchie appreciation

Nobody since Cam Newton has one player triggered an entire rival fanbase as John Metchie has. Not only did he trigger the students, he triggered an entire athletic department across all of their sports. Auburn fans/players/coaches have reached Texas A&M levels. I don't remember Bama fans mocking the "Superman" thing that Cam Newton did whenever we beat AU in other sports.

Auburn watches Bama like a hawk for ways to imitate big brother. They have a version of rammer jammer, a version of Dixieland delight, they copy our football celebration in every sport, and the list goes on and on

I knew about their version of rammer jammer but I have not heard about their version of Dixieland Delight.

All this tells me that Auburn cares more about football than all these other sports where they do Metchie's thing after winning...so it's a good thing we beat them in that one.

By far the funniest part is that the crane thing was literally just our WRs celebration all year long - like the guitar thing was the year before. It had absolutely zero to do with Auburn and was a total non factor in the Iron Bowl........until Auburn players kept doing it over and over and over when they started feeling good about themselves in the 3rd and 4th quarters 
. Hell, we hadn't even had a chance to do it yet because we couldn't score a TD .

Not just the players and fans. Bruce Pearl did it and claimed that they "started it". He also brought out a broom for the sweep. I mean everytime I think they can't get any more little brother they go ahead and up the ante

It's hilarious that of all the players over the years, the one that finally got to them was John Metchie of all people. Definitely not the one I would've expected
