I just think if our defense holds the other team's offense in check that Saban isn't going to pull Jalen out of the game. It does suck having to hang on to the edge of our seats because our offense struggles so much versus good defenses.

That may be a valid point, and it's (only) one of the reasons that I have decided that Saban might not be quite as good a coach as Bryant after all. He sometimes becomes just too damn conservative on offense. He had it going there for a while with a balanced offense but this that we have now is an abortion, and if he's ok with continuing with it, that sucks.

So what part do you think is laughable? You think Saban is measurably better than Bryant? If that's it, then I'd invite you to explain how or why. If you think I'm wrong about the offense, and you think it's good, then I'd suggest you are in the minority of reasonable fans, with that opinion.

Our fans have been complaining about our offense for the last 5 years and maybe even before while Saban has been here. I assume we can go pull old threads from that show it.

I remember most Alabama fans celebrating the balanced offenses of the McCarron years. 2014 was also fairly balanced and the most prolific Alabama offense ever. By the end of the year the 2015 offense was much more effective than this offense? You and Funky may like this offense. Then good, because it appears we are stuck with it.

I just went back and saw threads about firing Kiffin both years and complaining how we did not run the ball. People wanting Coker benched for Cornwell. People upset with B Sims and complaining about Coker needs to learn to throw the ball away and instead of taking the sack. Same complaints and saw some of the same posters complaining that are now.

awesome, but that has nothing to do with the fact that this offense is one dimensional, very poor in 3rd down conversions, scored 14 points vs Auburn etc.

Simple question. Do you think this is a good offense?

Our offense is better in those areas then the 2015 team that won the NC.

I think our offense has had issues since 2012 to be honest. Is it great no but good enough to win a NC. We have a lot of weapons but seem to under utilize them in my opinion. Hurts is this least of my concerns with the offense. Not sure why Harris does not get more touches, why Bo gets so many, and why Sims & Foster continue to be in there with their drops over the 3 freshman. But again I am not a coach just a fan so my opinion has little value except for discussion on this board.

Agreed and probably the biggest debate on this board I can remember was going into spring camp and everyone debating if AJ or Sims would win the job.

A voice of reason in a mob of nega-Bammers. Jalen has limitations...but not as many as some of the posters here.

And people seem to forget Clemson has one of the best d-lines in the country.

Now about all the other defenses? He threw for 70 or 80 yards against FSU. Was it because of their elite defensive line?

He threw for 96.

And 2 TDs.

Just watched some highlights. There were at least 2 3rd downs where he hit the receiver, but the WR cut the route short and didn't get the 1st down. That's become a staple of this offense.

Look folks, lay off Jalen. There are hundreds of excuses why he isn’t any good.

Bryant went 8 or so years without winning a bowl game from the late 60s to early 70s. Do you think that will happen to Saban?
