His agent was able to arrange a meeting with 20 individual NFL teams today and they all came away impressed.

#Bama LB Reuben Foster met with 20 team people as a group today before his Pro Day, then most individually as he would have at the Combine.

Reuben Foster told the group of teams he was sorry for the Combine situation, taking ownership of what went wrong. Teams came away impressed

Has anyone considered that maybe this was a genius way of getting out of the medical, so he could get more time to heal up?

Reuben is playing chess. Checkmate.

From what we have all heard about Reuben, I wouldn't doubt if he was joking around and said something to the medical guy, and the guy had a stick up his arse and smarted off to Reuben. Then all hell must have broken loose.

Probably a million people have "heated words" as bad as that everyday -- including friends and relatives. It's better he was sent home. It got him away from all the reporters that were there.

I don't know about joking around, but I've been in enough waiting rooms long enough at a time to know how frustrating it is sometimes. More likely he asked more than once how long it would be, or otherwise expressed frustration at waiting so long, the other guy took exception and replied with a bit of an attitude, and off it went. Stuff just happens.

Seriously, everything I've ever heard from people who interact with Reuben is that he's basically a loveable idiot. This sort of thing was totally out of character for him.
Hopefully it was just a stress induced snap and is just a blip on the radar.

I took my boys to the Kentucky game this year and got to spend a little time around some of the players and their families afterward. I can vouch for this assessment of Reuben and can also confirm it is an inherited trait.

Well, I think Reuben is the biggest name guy he has - including guys in the league already. Story is that he met with Reuben the day after the game and Reuben signed with him in that meeting. The guy had a private plan ready for Foster to head to Miami. Also heard upon signing he got an upfront advance of $200K.

This guy principally represents MMA fighters. No one outside of Frank Mir that I recognize but I don't really follow MMA anymore. He also signed Florida's Jalen Tabor.
I don't know about this guy. I hope Reuben gets some good advice. Oh Lawd!

Looks like he's one of the biggest MMA agents though, probably wanting to expand out. Bones Jones, Sterling, Frank Mir, etc...
Foster and David Njoku were good coups, as they both will likely be 1st Round guys...

Nick Saban: Combine dismissal won’t affect Reuben Foster’s draft stock | SEC Country
quote:
Alabama coach Nick Saban has spoken with former Crimson Tide linebacker Reuben Foster about the incident that got him sent home from the NFL combine.
Foster was sent home early from the combine after he was involved in a “heated argument” with a hospital employee.
According to Robert Klemko of the Monday Morning Quarterback, Foster “grew impatient with long lines for (medical) exams” and “pulled the ‘do you know who I am’ card.”
Saban provided more details surrounding the situation during Alabama’s pro day.
“Reuben’s been a great player for us here. We’ve never had any issue with Reuben,” Saban said Wednesday. “I think that when you ask someone — if anybody here asks someone eight or 10 times, ‘Am I in the right place, why have I had to stay here for so long’ and nobody will respond to you, I think it will probably create a little anxiety for all of us.
“I know that Reuben wishes that he would have responded in a little more positive way, but I think that other people could have responded and been a little more respectful to him as well.”
Foster attended Alabama’s pro day, but did not participate in any drills due to his shoulder injury and did not speak to reporters.
Some draft analysts have questioned whether the incident would cause Foster to drop in the draft. Foster is considered by many to be a top-10 prospect. ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. had Foster going No. 9 overall to the Cincinnati Bengals in his latest mock draft.
Saban believes that Foster’s play on the field won’t be overshadowed by this one mishap.
“I think that anybody that thinks what happened in Indy should affect this guy’s future in the draft is being very shortsighted,” Saban said. “He’s played here for four years. We’ve never had an issue with him. He’s always been a great leader. He’s a signal caller on defense. He’s bright. He’s always been a great team guy, and he’s really liked by his teammates.
“If you’re looking for a good teammate to be on your team, Reuben’s going to be very, very good. If you’re looking for somebody to be a candy striper and be nice to everybody at the hospital, maybe not.”

People can say whatever they want about Saban, but he always has his players back. They all know it too.

Was literally about to post this. Saban DNGAF about other people's opinion if he thinks his guy deserves defending.

Believable. He called Dick Butkus, Dick "Bumpkiss" on camera multiple times when he won the Butkus award.

How did it go for you when you told them, "Hey, don't you know who I am? I'm Huddie Leadbetter"? Did it get you in to see the doctor any more quickly? Or did they kick you out?
Posted on 3/11/17 at 9:52 am to BamaGradinTn
Well, though I have been frustrated about long waits (have you never?), I never yet raised hell about it and so I've never been kicked out. I have, though, got up and walked out when I had an appointment to meet and was already waiting over an hour.
edit: Foster probably regrets it now, but I doubt it will impact where he goes in the draft.
