I know things aren't perfect with the offense but my goodness, guys. Get a grip.

I'm not sky-screaming at all, and in fact I think the offense is still pretty good, all considered.

This is a concern about BOB's tendencies, and if we could be better, especially if it's putting us in bad situations.

And why do we so rarely deploy "hot" routes to burn opponents who are blitzing us like crazy? Too often our route trees fail to get guys open and Bryce can't find a good target. Add in an empty backfield with no RB to help counter stunts/blitzes.

This right here killed us in the A&M game. Too busy getting cute with the long developing plays when they were showing overload blitzes presnap. Yea we made them pay latter in the game with the bomb to Jamo but damn man, at least have 1 player run a crosser or outroute to bail our quarterback out from getting killed waiting for something to open up down field

Edited to add: That type of play calling against Georgia will get Bryce hurt

Other than the 1st half of the A&M game, I've been pleased with our offense this year. It's been pretty efficient and moves the ball well. It doesn't have the explosiveness it has had the past few years, but as long as we score, I don't think it matters.

That's not to say there aren't issues. The pass protection could be a lot better, and more consistency from the WR position is needed. The latter has looked better the past 2 games.

I will never complain about running the ball on first down.

We're #2 in the country in scoring offense.

I seen our linemen line up and cheat a little or rather a lot, and give away the play with ease.

Really? I haven’t noticed that.

What specifically are they doing?

During the first half of the A&m game they overloaded the oline on one side. It took until the second half to make adjustments. Whether it be the oc or the line coach a good coach would be able to make those changes within a few plays. Not take a halftime to come up with something.

I don’t know about predictable, guess it may be. I just know it’s boring. No imagination or creativity. Miss Sark and Kiff. Those dudes were offensive wizards.

HA . . . How many times do we run the ball on 2nd and long?

Look, our offense is not bad . . . We just want what we had last year - and that ain’t gonna happen.

Exactly.

Smitty, Mac, Leatherwood, Dickerson, and Harris could have taken the same play calls and made something of them - in Mac’s and Dickerson’s case, probably at the line - they had that kind of freedom to make changes. Everyone knows this.

But we can still bitch . . .

Red zone and garbage time make a huge difference though. Saban goes into clock kill mode once the game is in hand and that gives a distorted image.

With the way Bama blew people out last year I bet the first down run percentage for the whole season was very high then too.
