Im not understanding the downvotes for your post... if he hits those open passes for the "big" plays his numbers would have looked a lot better, and the media would have gone bananas and crowned him the Heisman in week 1.

I think the overthrow to Burton really was the Jameson/Metch effect though. Those guys run under that ball. Either way im not that concerned with week 1 issues with an entirely different receiving core. If anything they know exactly what needs cleaning up at practice this week.

Not bad but not great. If he hits the passes I mentioned, then it's a great day passing but he was not "on" Saturday. It was the first game with new receivers so I expect that will improve.

Yea, agree, he was a little off Saturday. Missed Burton deep twice, didn't see Holden on a WR screen pump and go down in the red zone and ended up with an incompletion.

Still pretty good, but there was more there for the taking.

Can't believe he couldn't get on the field at Ohio State.

What about Joe Burrows?

Thanks and exactly my point. Of course I fully believe he has much, much better performances ahead.

And only played the first half basically. So the numbers are not bad.

It was his first year so yea he was a little too dependent on Williams. The guy who dissected Utah State like Ducky from NCIS was light years ahead mentally, from the kid that started last season and won the Heisman. If all things go according to plan he's a lot better QB but we run more this year thus lowering his stats, he doesn't repeat as Heisman, everybody knows its a sham, so we have to settle for an undefeated season and National Championship, (and a 40 point trouncing of Auburn)
