While it is concerning that players were allowed to be late to workouts in 2024, it is more concerning that Roc Montgomery has an open mic to drop that information in 2025.

You ever met any 18-22 y/o kids from this generation? You just described 90% of them. Lots of these kids coasted through high school on that covid bullshite.

It's sad that you have to stand over millionaires to make them do what they're supposed to though ...

It's sad that the new staff allows players to speak to the media as freely as they do. I wish DeBoer would keep the microphones away from them so they can just focus on getting better, and not running their mouths. Words mean nothing if you're not performing on the field.

Again, in 2025 you can't micromanage these people 24/7 like coaches could 50 years ago. Saban couldn't toward the end.

Again, where did Montgomery say that the coaching staff specifically said, "It's OK for you to be late to workouts?"

No you can't, but a coach is also not completely helpless either. We've got too many players speaking in the media too often and that is not a good thing.

I think y'all went down the rabbit hole with this topic. They're holding each other accountable and that's what we should want to hear, not complaining about who said it.

Agreed. The players holding themselves and each other accountable will be better in the long run than coaches standing over them making them lift weights because it will show that they are bought in. This is a good sign.

It is, but look at millionaire athletes across all sports. A whole bunch of them act they way. The millionaire athlete mentality is nothing at all like the millionaire businessman mentality. The few that can bridge both end up being hugely successful after their playing career is over. But a whole bunch of millionaire athletes end up broke.
