He’s my number 1 however I doubt he’s willing to take a OC job. He could be a HC again in college immediately and he may get another shot in the NFL.

The coaching carousel gets old, but it looks like the alternative is to hire an inept coach nobody will hire away from you. I'm not sure stability is worth that alternative.

The coaching carousel isn’t that bad if you hire a coach that fits the players you are recruiting. BoB was a bad hire. He’s not built for the current college football landscape. I think Saban got tired of the carousel and hired BoB because he knew he couldn’t get a big college HC job. Saban hates losing more than anything though so the next hire will be a great one.

Put Mullen upstairs and he’ll do great. Doesn’t need to recruit just close.

I’d want any OC we hire to be on the field. I can’t stand seeing BoB with his backwards hat looking down like a benevolent overlord.

I wish I was considered so handsome that after being a losing head coach at a middle tier school I was hired to be a losing head coach in the NFL and after my inevitable firing will likely get a chance to be a head coach at a better college job than the one I had. At least Rhule and Kelly had to win in college .

Mullen would be great for our current QBs. If he comes I think Milroe locks up the starting QB position.

Goodbye playoff contender.

I wouldn’t be mad about Dan as the OC. He is a good play caller and exploits mismatches. They did well at recruiting when he was OC at UF.

I don’t think Milroe is the answer at QB, unless we picked up Ken Niumatalolo as OC.

He also hasn't coached in a few years.

What?

I think it's fair to say he wasn't actually doing much coaching but he was getting paid to coach at Florida until November 21, 2021.

Mullin isn't the one Bama is going after. Some Chatters point to a current OC with another team.

Saw on other board that Mullin has no interest in coaching at Bama.

I don’t think Mullen has the work ethic to put up with what Saban requires.

Who are you hearing about?

This doesn’t surprise me. He’s made a lot of comments over the years that suggest he doesn’t like Saban’s coaching style.

Did you ask if Dak Prescott is still playing? ??. Also Alex Smith played over 10 years in the NFL and yes Trask is still a backup QB.

I don’t know about work ethic but I’m not sure if their personalities would mesh.

He has a very mixed histories of hires. The choice of BOB alone gives me the right but having Golding at the same time more than qualifies anyone to be able to question it.

He’s a college football coach and we’re fans on a message board. He’s not our dad making decisions that we can’t stay out past dark.

Exactly. You're not qualified to have an educated opinion.
I guess you can still have an uneducated opinion.

Unless you've worked in athletics administration at a high level.
Have you?

7 actually, but that doesn’t mean that every one of his hires is a home run. Kirby was DC for most, and his defenses, covered a lot of mediocre/slightly above average OC’s. If he keeps Golding, then the next OC will need to be great, not average.

No, my degree is in Mechanical Engineering and I work in Communications. I still have an opinion just like everyone else, that’s what comes from being invested in something.
