The goals may not have officially changed, but after watching that putrid performance in BDS on Saturday the goals are effectively out of reach. I mean, Vandy could have a goal of winning a national title this year, and technically that's not out of reach either.

This team is the same version as last year's without a Heisman winning QB, the best defensive player in college football, and a first round running back.

The penalties are still there, the lack of turnovers are still there, the piss poor defense is still there. It's the same team with different people calling the plays on either side of the ball.

8-4 guys.

The only way I see us winning out our schedule is a QB change. Buchner doesn’t have Milroe’s arm but he reads defenses, throws people open, and has wheels if he needs them. He from my views doesn’t panic in the pocket. Our WR’s were getting open all night so we have the guys to do it.

Win out and play in the SECCG. We actually would be better off if Georgia is undefeated and #1 going into that game. Win and we're definitely in with 1 loss 99% certain.

The SEC West looks the weakest it's been in years so it's possible. But without much better QB play, among other things, it won't matter.

We know what Milroe can do... it's time to give a couple other guys game action. No, South Florida won't be a prove it game, but at least we could see if a new QB could go through reads and be accurate with ball placement in live action.

Again, as I said the season just started and things will change as the PAC 12 may be hard for anyone to go undefeated this year and truth be told not sure the B12 or the ACC will have an undefeated champion. But no way to convince me that winning out will be a guarantee at this point either for Alabama.

Some need to look at how the program is being viewed. It has some tarnish on it know many are starting to question. Last year I felt we got a pass for what Saban has built and proven to get almost in the playoffs in the end but now maybe what was being questioned last year was right.

Their D line (what mattered) is good. They’re coached by Bo Davis who coached some of the best defensive linemen we’ve had under Saban.

Buchner had 3 TDs and 5 INTs at 55% completion.

I'm not sure why people think he's going to have the team any better.

Strictly from what I’ve seen he is better. How much better, I have no idea.

Bama’s still thought highly of. To only drop to #10 after being embarrassed in our own house says something.

The USF game will tell us nothing about any QB that plays. Milroe looked good against a better MTSU team and shite the bed against a competent defense at home.

That's a lie. A QB will still have to make reads in any game. Is he making correct reads? That's the question to ask against an inferior opponent.

Can Alabama still make the playoffs? Yes, but not without making some changes.

The Alabama window for making the playoffs is not very big. This team has to thread the needle...but what would that even look like?

If they make a change at QB and that change works, it will take a little of the bad taste of the Texas game out of the equation. It would say they found out they had the wrong QB and they fixed the problem. If they stay with Milroe, it is saying he is the best option they have so his Texas game is a major part of the team identity for the selection vote at the end of the year.

The rest of the year, Alabama has to stay clear of tight games determind by 1 score which would keep the question of how good are they really in the forefront.

The team has to show significant improvement in the weak areas Texas exposed.
- interior O-line play
- edge play by OT's
- RB pass pro
- Do they actually have a stout run game or just really big slow O-line?
- decision making at QB
- can they read and attack a legit defense? (air and ground)
- Can the defense generate a legit pass rush against a good team?

Those questions have to be answerred and leave no question in the mind of the voters. Staying with Milroe will reinforce the impression left on Saturday evening.

IF a change is made at QB and it works out that this team wins the SEC it doesn’t matter, they make the playoffs.

And that’s a huge IF, and I’m talking about the IF a change is made at QB, not winning the SEC.

At this point the only window requires they win the SEC and every game along the way. Even 1 more loss and still win the SEC, I think they are left out of the playoffs.

If Saban is allowing the feelings/opinions of 18-22 year olds determine who starts then we're in worse trouble than we realize.

Bottom line we have to win every game including the SECCG to be in.

Yes, the pundits are starting to doubt, and who can blame them? They are watching Alabama getting physically beaten, outmatched at the point of attack. The "make their arse quit" is beginning to apply to us. The announcers keep bragging on how big Alabama's offensive line is. Doesn't matter if they are slow and cannot move. Texas' rush ends ran by our mountains at tackle all night long pressuring Milroe while the interior 3 were on roller skates. The center was mowing grass with his snaps then getting pushed back into the pocket. Don't even get me started on Dalcourt; that kid has made more dumb mistakes that have been huge than I care to remember. They were run blocking well enough early on, but when the passing threat went away, so did the running lanes. Zero explosive plays in the run game outside of #4. McClellelan had a 20 yard run against MTSU, that's our longest run from the loaded RB room.

DL has been a non factor through 2 games in the pass rush. We get ZERO pressure without bringing an extra man. It's been that way since Roach took over DL. He can recruit ok, but he cannot coach the position. Time for him to leave. They've been solid against the run, until Texas wore their arse out late when we desperately needed a stop to have a chance.

I dunno guys. If you can dominate the lines of scrimmage, you can do pretty much anything you want as Texas showed. If you get dominated, you can have the best game plan and skill players in the world and it doesn't matter. You've got to win up front and for the last 4 years, with a few notable exceptions like UGA in Atlanta, any team that is even close to us in talent up front whips our arse in the trenches. I don't know what the answer is, but we'd better find it and quick. Nobody fears Alabama anymore and more than a few feel they can go toe to toe with us and they're right. We gotta fix that or the Dynasty is dead.

You do realize Bama’s SEC record is 0-0 right now and an SEC Champ with 1 non-conference loss goes regardless, right?
