Respectfully disagree. U don't throw in a guy who is accustomed to being up 31-0 against one of the best teams in the country...Unless JH is injured. Jalen has flaws but he's seen this Clemson team in real time . We don't know if Tua can handle this type of game pressure yet

Game pressure? If Saban awards a scholarship to a guy he feels that guy can contribute when his feet hit the campus. I believe Tua will need to play against Clemson.

Yeah...I think it's kinda telling he's only gone in when we re up big. Never saw him go in while we were up 10-0 or 14-0. The kid has talent and that's not in question but he's simply not ready

Keep in mind I was told he will play, in what capacity and for how long I'm not sure. More to come on that.

There's a zero percent chance Tua plays anything more than some special package plays, barring injury

I could be wrong, but I don't think ppl would be talking about it if he were just coming in for one trick play or something. If what you're hearing has legs, it means Tua will have a significant role

But we do know that Hurts can't pass the ball against an elite defense. Hell, he struggles against average defenses. Half the time he won't even get rid of the ball on a dropback.

Boz, what's the word on these Tua to UCLA rumors?

I wonder if Saban is factoring him into the gameplan in part to ensure he stays at Alabama

Tua only plays if he's the holder on extra pts.

Seriously, having a QB as holder for place kicking makes 100% sense and there's a reason people traditionally did it.

QB's are good at taking snaps and if you wanted to run a fake you got your QB there to throw it.

Tua is left handed and won't hold for kicks.

Also guys, we almost won it all last year with a freshman quarterback that looked like shite the last four games of the season. I would rather overcome an interception than go three and out most of the night but that's me. If we had last year's defense I think we would best this clemson team but need to put points on the board.

We had a bad game against AU. Plainly put. The other games you mentioned we were missing 20 LBs. We will be fine on defense.

We have the pieces on offense, we just need to use our horses. I want us to run Harris like its going out of style.

You didn't know that Jalen could handle the pressure when Nick sent him in vs USC.

If we really wanted to get Tua ready for some playoff action, he should have been getting a couple of series a game against LSU, MSU, AU, etc and he got ZERO playing time in close games. That tells me not to expect Tua against Clemson, even though I think he should be getting a series or two every game because he brings a different dynamic to our offense.

The only reason he hasn't been playing can only be explained by one rumor I've heard recently and that's that Tua has thrown too many picks in practice, so the coaches don't trust him right now. Not sure if true?

Could it be that the Auburn game influenced the coaches’ thinking on this? Maybe their just no longer willing to give Jalen all four quarters to make it happen if things aren’t going so well.

If nothing else, I doubt Tua holds the damn ball long enough to make a sandwich like Jalen does. And if he gets pressured, I don’t think he bails on the play and just looks for a running lane. Maybe I’m wrong and Tua will shite the bed. But at least we will have used every weapon at our disposal. We know how the movie ends with Jalen exclusively.
