How well do you think Tua will transition into a pro-style offense?

We know his arm is elite and his accuracy is generational. I have confidence in him but we really don't know how he will he will perform with a more complicated route tree and new philosophy across the board.

I personally think he will again thrive and the quick slant to Jeudy will be feared once again. Honestly, with the best backfield in America, play action on third and short and first and ten will be lethal. I can't wait to see it.

If Sark is competent, he should field the best offense in the conference and maybe the nation. What do you guys think?

Our offense last year was pro-style with spread/RPO concepts mixed in. All Sark will change is installing more 'full-read' passing concepts, which is a small tweek. We had those things in our passing attack - Sark just wants to use them more to 1) combat disguised coverages and 2) pass more effectively in the compressed field of the Red Zone.

But it's erroneous to think that our offense is changing enough to pose the question like you did in the OP. Our Oline is prostyle, as is its blocking schemes. Our route tree is pro-style and won't change. At most, our passing attack is pivoting - not changing - and Tua will continue to play like a #1 Pick in the Draft.

Prevatt, I love you brother and you are one of my favorite posters. Honestly, I was just bored, the board is dead right now and I wanted to talk some football somewhere other than the rant. I may have posted a rhetorical question but I wanted to talk about Tua and Sark and I assumed their would be a little more involved than a couple of tweaks. I am not overly qualified to giving an expert opinion but what I saw last year looked nothing like the pro-style I became used to under Saban. Not looking for a debate, just sparking conversation.

No worries, friend. I wasn't trying to insult you.

The board is dead, and you can start any convo you want.

Regarding Offensive Changes, I expect Sark to very much implement some passing concepts that will require and allow Tua to progress through 3 to 4 reads and find the open man - and I expect him to be really, really good at it. We'll still be doing RPO stuff, but will implement more varied concepts in the name of versatility.

Where I hope to see some concept changes is on the Oline. I'm suspicious that Saban wants to get back to having a downhill rushing attack, and I'd like nothing more. Similarly, any "full-read" passing concepts will require the Oline to hold up longer in pass protection, and so I'd wager a guess that our Oline may change schematically more than any other group. We also lack a big-body on-the-line blocking TE, and so we're going to have to scheme around it or find someone who can do it.

I expect our Offense to evolve from last year, but I don't think the passing attack per se will be noticeably different to the average fan's eye.

The route concepts in the spring game (I know spring) were very different than last year except for the RPOs. Maybe they weren’t completely comfortable with it yet but it looked less than impressive or our Dbs have improved significantly

So generally you expect the same shotgun vs. under-center split as in recents years?

Ok, well that is encouraging. I thought we were ditching the rpo.

As always, the Oline holds the key to success.
