outside of Julio, I don't agree with any of those.

But to say Sims is your favorite player while complaining about Hurts is kind of crazy.

Why? The only thing they have in common is the color of their skin. This point is dumb.

not true, they are very similar qbs.

That said "favorite player" accounts for a lot of things in addition to skill. Sims is also my favorite qb of the Saban Era (maybe Coker) because i love his attitude and story and finally getting his shot and taking us to an SEC Championship when we didn't have our best defense or offensive line.

I guess they are both black and both could run. Sims was a pass first guy and had the best deep ball probably in the whole country that year. He holds the single season record for passing yards. He won my heart in 2012 with his antics toward the crowd in tiger stadium then the way he took over the team in 2014 sealed the deal. To say he exceeded expectations is a massive understatement.

WR - Julio

Julio is a future hall of famer in the NFL. Will go down as the greatest Falcons receiver of all-time.

But at Alabama, based on numbers alone, it is Amari Cooper by a lot.

You see what you want to see.

Both are "dual threats" Hurts is a stronger runner while Sims had a great deep ball. The mid-range throws aren't eithers strong suit. Both are also one read type guys locking primarily in on the best receiver.

Ingram/ Henry- Ingram stepped in as frosh and performed. Took Henry a couple of years to get going. Henry has the greatest upside.

Honorable mentions to the Italian Stalluon, Shaun Alexander, Trent

Julio - all hail

Newsom - right behind Julio

Hudson - ran a sub 10 hundred meters back in the 30’s if you can imagine, and is in the HOF and for years was on the all time NFL team along with big John Hannah

Tua- it’s inevitable

Derrick Thomas- forever our best. And that’s saying a lot. But he ranks up there with Butkus and LT imo.

Honorable mention to Leroy Jordan, the meanest player we ever had. Look out for Reuben Foster.

John Hannah - best guard of all time at any level.

Honorable mention to Dwight Stevenson.

Barrett Jones can't carry John Hannah's jock. I liked Barrett, but come on.

Love Ingram, but give me Bobby Humphrey.

DB - Fitty(if he does go down as the best. Langham is hard to dethrone)

Again, great choices, but Jeremiah Castille was the most clutch DB, and best overall in my opinion. I was very young, but he was amazing and when the game was on the line, he came through.

Don McNeal was a great one.

He is battling multiple sclerosis now and has to get around on a scooter.

He is most noted for two plays ... the great tackle he made against Penn State on the one ... setting up “the stand” and the one he failed to make against John Riggins in the Super Bowl.

Blakes Sims was as good of a runner and a better deep ball passer than Hurts. The thing about Sims, he was not afraid to take chances which made him prone to mistakes. He was polarizing. Dude would be amazing one drive, then do the most ridiculous thing ever the next or vice versa. But not many had a better deep ball. It was beautiful.

I still think Hurts is a better runner, but you are right about Sims' deep ball, it was incredible.

They're both great. Not much separates them in regards to running. This run by Blake is my favorite play of the 2014 season.

I didn’t even know he went 1 till recently. 1948. Our only 1.

Heck. A lot of these people never saw many of these guys mentioned including Derek Thomas.

That’s the problem with thses lists.

But it’s a safer best Julio will be there when the final all time roster is drawn up.... Julio, Hannah and Derek Thomas ... indisputable for all time.
