It’s not impossible look at Jalen Hurts.

Fair comparison but Bama also had an elite defense back then to fall back on.

Bama is a 3 loss team with Milroe.

Unless the defense somehow morphs back to circa 2016 I totally agree.

The Milroe/Simpson depth chart standing for 2022 means jack moving forward. But, for that matter, so does the fact that Simpson had 5 stars next to his name in high school.

One thing in Simpson's favor, he's used to playing behind an offensive line that can't block very well. In his high school footage, he was scrambling for his life on every play. He kept his eyes down field, made some good throws, occasionally burned people running the ball. I know, high school and college aren't the same, but it was still encouraging. To me his high school footage looked eerily like Bryce's did.

1200 yards rushing his senior year is impressive.

He has a lot of upside. I spoke to him before the AM game, he isn’t stupid either. Very well spoken, looks the part and throws a pretty ball.

Let’s see how it translates.

He's going to have a lot of help around him assuming that he wins the job. In 2021 Bryce had very little returning talent to work with. The 2023 offense will have a good amount of talent at WR and RB to work with. The line should be good, too. Hopefully whoever the new coordinator is will develop the players better and be more diverse as a play caller.
