Watching the game today has basically confirmed my suspicions I’ve had all year.

Losing those 30+ players after Saban’s retirement was essentially a shadow probation. DeBoer is trying install his offense while at the same time using old saban recruits to run it and it’s like chewing aluminum man. Just hurts to watch every Saturday knowing if you win, it’s just cause you got lucky or slightly better depth.

I wouldn’t really expect to slobber knock teams for another 2 years, especially if the quality control of the trenches and player health doesn’t get better.

I still believe in deboer as much as I ever have because I see the vision of what he’s trying to do with the recruits and scheme etc. but god it hurts watching some of this left over saban slop be 100% the reason we’re getting toasted in any of our losses while all of DeBoer’s recruits from Washington are our best players.

If he didn’t think they were good enough he should’ve let them walk and bought new ones. We paid alot of money to keep what we have.

Also have to factor in the players we lost to the draft as well. Defense is fine but offense has been our Achilles heel since Saban's last season and the rushing game has been on a downward spiral since 2021.

Of course it sucked. Lost a guy that will be in NY for Heisman. Lost the best defensive player in the country, lost tons of depth.

Lot of people just want to sulk tonight

Grubb sucks! No need to cry about what happened in January of 2024. A lot of players who left didn't light up the wortld at the schools they went to. Sayin and Downs were big losses.

The Oline recruiting has just been atrocious evaluations. The players we have clearly are not athletic enough to run the kinds of plays and protections that Deboer and Grubb want to do.

Id have a hard time believing that theyd be running Saban's system well either
