Are we going to take 3 RB's in this class?
Hank (BOL mod) has been mentioning Edwards all summer as a 3rd RB to keep an eye on. He said today that Bama will take another RB if it's Evans or McClellan. It wouldn't surprise me if Bama gives the 3rd RB spot to the first of those two that wants it. Hopefully, one of them will. But even if neither one does, we'll still be fine now that we've got Edwards along with Williams.
ETA: BOL article no longer VIP:
What's next for Alabama's RB recruiting efforts?

I seriously thought that yesterday was Wednesday. It's been one of those weeks.

I had posted "Bae Watch edition" yesterday to remind you. But thanks to your posts, I just had to switch it to "Lost Dawg edition." I should've alerted you then to what it had been (Duh me!).

If this keeps up, we're gonna need a dog catcher edition

It was weird listening to the podcast episode 2. They felt super confident about Evans.

I don't think Evans was ever coming to Bama, Texas or A&M bound.
Edwards will shoot up the rankings this year, will be a high 4 star by the final rankings.
Evans recently said he will take OVs to UGA, LSU, Bama and maybe A&M too before deciding. He didn't mention Texas. But Evans also contradicts himself so much, imo it's pretty much a guess at this point where he'll ultimately end up.
You're right about Edwards being expected to move up considerably in the rankings by the end of his senior season. Roydell Williams will probably move up some more too.

Congrats on the pick up
Thanks. After all I've read, listened to and watched today on Edwards, I'm really glad Bama grabbed him now before his stock soars rather than slow playing him. Edwards appears to be a somewhat under the radar gem and a great fit for Bama, like Josh Jacobs and Jerome Ford. I really like this pickup.
3* TE Irv Smith, Jr. (50th 2019 NFL draft pick)
3* RB Josh Jacobs (24th 2019 NFL draft pick)
3* RB Kyle Edwards 6-0/210 LA hudl
If Saban wants him, I am totally good with that.

If this kid sticks with us and blows up his senior year, I will feel for the normal LSU posters who will have to deal with the less rational portion of the TD fanbase.

Yeah, it might be a deja vu a la Irv Smith, Jr.
Since Edwards had to wait his turn in HS behind John Emery, I figure he's probably not too keen on following him to LSU. And it appears LSU is content to go after Evans, and if they miss, just spend the spot on another position or maybe take LA RB Ashaad Johnson.

Anyone see Kendall Milton’s dad on twitter. He had a couple tweets today bashing Bama fans. First one, talking about how we are different fans when his son didn’t pick Alabama.

Second one, someone tweeted the Roydell Williams is better than Kendall Milton. He didn’t tag anyone in the tweet. Lo and behold, daddy shows up to save the day.
LINK
Of course, Dawg fans show up to pile on with the trailers and kissing cousins comments. Similar to Smalls dad tweeting his displeasure with fans.

Tide pledge Roydell Williams shines in 2019 debut (BamaOnLine | video)
quote:
Alabama running back commit Kyle Edwards made the Friday morning headlines after choosing the Crimson Tide over Michigan and Penn State.
But it was longtime running back pledge Roydell Williams that held the spotlight just hours before, helping Hueytown (Ala.) to a 32-19 season-opening win over Homewood (Ala.) Thursday night.
On the evening, the four-star ball carrier rushed 17 times for 148 yards and two touchdowns, including a 72-yard game-clinching score in the fourth quarter. The Tide pledge also caught three passes for 56 yards, including a 44-yard touchdown reception.
Williams is coming off a Class 6A First Team All-State selection in 2018 that saw him rush for almost 2,800 yards and 32 touchdowns. Last fall, Williams had a 409-yard outing in a 70-3 win over Northridge, so this type of production is nothing new for the 5-foot-10, 202-pounder.
Recently, Williams became a Top100 recruit in the 247Sports Composite Rankings, currently sitting as the No. 9 running back and the No. 86 overall player in the country. It’s hard to imagine, if he keeps this kind of output up, Williams not continuing to climb in the rankings as one of the top ball carriers in the nation.
As far as recruiting goes, teams continue to come after the in-state back to try and change his mind. Williams was on campus in Tuscaloosa often in the month of June and, despite still potentially planning some visits, remains locked in with his decision.
“I still feel 110 percent about it,” he told BamaOnLine recently. “Nothing has changed in my mind right now. Just the coaching staff, the relationships I have with the coaches and some of the players. That’s what keeps me there.”

Watching McGill Toolen and Spanish Fort on Stadium. Some solid prospects playing. MGT just went up 7-0. Wonder if Bama will be in on any of these kids for 2021?
