It kills me when these dudes get on YouTube and diagnose the defense after the fact. Motherfricker, where were you BEFORE the Vandy game? What were your predictions?
This is just Monday morning quarterbacking.
"Screws on Screws"?? They're desperate for something they say to go viral.
These guys are just telling you what you watched with your own eyes for clicks.
BAMA played cover 1. Vandy exposed it. Your scheme is getting beat not your players.
Get fricked, nerd.
BAMA lost because ONE of their wide receivers beat our defensive backs every time they needed a play and their qb didn't make any mistakes and BAMA's did. They shortened the game by milking the clock from the very beginning. The were called for only 3 penalties. They just pitched a perfect game. This shite happens. It's how AppSt beat Michigan. All upsets tend to have some mythical ethos to them.
Outside of playing cover zero and putting 11 in the box and forcing Pavia to beat BAMA throwing the ball, I'm not sure what else could've been done. And the nerd in the video didn't make any suggestions as to what BAMA could've done either.

quote:Correct. Without the pick six we are sitting here complaining about how ugly the win was and how we won't win another game if we don't clean up the issues.

Pretty sure that was their tight end.

Even if they did not get the pick six, Bama was going to punt and they would march down the field and score anyway

Stowers. TE. You're right. My mistake. He made all the plays necessary. He also came with Pavia from NMSt. He was a 4 star out of highschool too. He isn't some scrub.

Based on what? BAMA scored on most of their drives. So statistically you are incorrect.

Because it was 3rd and 6. Normally it would’ve been a simple incomplete pass not tipped into a defenders hands. But still a punt and a very likely Vandy score

This is about right. It's a fair assumption.

Could've easily been called a penalty since we're just engaging in conjecture.
Also after the pick 6, BAMA scored a TD and then forced a punt, that was erased by the two 2s on the field penalty.

You know they wouldn’t have called that.
I get what you’re trying to say but in the end it’s a loss. It doesn’t mean everything will go to shite. But a loss to an unranked team like this (getting outplayed) is concerning. Maybe it gets better or maybe they spiral idk at this point

I agree with your post, but to put a finer point on that part of it. Not only was Vanderbilt an unranked team, they're a largely talentless unranked team and that adds another thorn to this.
I could reconcile with this better if this loss came to a talented, bad team like A&M a couple of years ago or something like that, but Vanderbilt is a middling group of four team masquerading as something more. Losing to Vanderbilt really is like losing to a team out of the Sunbelt. Vanderbilt's not a good team.

Wow I thought I was crazy when I noticed it in the USF game lol. I was in disbelief when I saw it every third down last Saturday

I was flipping out by the 3rd quarter when we continued to play C-1 robber every 3rd and medium to long and got hosed by slants or swing passes. I was begging the television screen to relay to Wommack that running a split safety look pre-snap that became Tampa-2 post-snap. They'd either gotten a pick or at least made Pavia double pump and let the edge rushers have a chance to finish instead of getting quick released out of existence.

He actually did point out what he wouldve done
LINK
And then Clint Lamb chirped in and pointed out how against Wisconsin we even showed a good slew of 3-4 that we just never fricking ran for some reason against Vandy except for goal line
LINK
Wommack coached that game on autopilot, treating a yellow or red light like it was green and never changing it up
Hell Georgia kept converting on us with slants in the entire second half the exact same Vandy did and we still didn’t mix it up

Per Sagarin, Vandy is the 43rd ranked team — solid, above-average bowl team, in other words. And Vanderbilt’s efficiency metrics are better than that: 33rd overall offensively, 26th in per-play efficiency, 31st in drive efficiency, 23rd in rushing efficiency, 27th in preventing negative drives. In other words, the Commodores have a Top 20% offense. Per RBR.

First of all, don't be a pussboy. Have the stones to quote the entire post. Secondly, compared to its conference brethren, Vanderbilt is indeed largely talentless and as a point of fact, they are unranked.

Their composite talent ranking is sitting pretty right at 50.This is not a talented football team.
The Alabama Crimson Tide got its arse beat up and down the field by a woefully substandard and untalented team.
Vanderbilt has about 69 three star players. You know how many Alabama has? I'll cough it up, 14. Go ahead and guess what makes up the difference. I'll give you a hint, Alabama has 28 five star players on its roster.

If coaches are not communicating with players in a timely manner, that is on the coaches not the players. It is like following trying to follow directions when someone tells you to turn right after you have already passed the intersection. I can understand Moore's frustration.

some of things stood out -
1)Def Coord too predictable
2)Players on defensive front not physical .. i can never remember a RB pulling Bama defenders for 3 yds and score
3)DLine pathetic
4) blantant holds were not called on vandy. What is it about SEC referees in the State of Tennessee
2 and 3 can never be solved this season
So I am expecting 4-5 losses

Well considering that outside of the Vandy game they have looked much more physical and capable, I'd say that they absolutely can be solved.
