We hate the NIL and transfer portal but what it has effectively done is allow teams like Vandy who can make the right hire become an overnight threat.
This is actually a referendum on KDB and the staff however because they obviously took them lightly and we paid for it.
Even if we took them as serious as UGA we still have our flaws, especially our 3rd/4th down obvious playcalling and our LBs.... however we would have scrapped with a win.
More teams are on notice now, but I still think Vandy will shock a few more

I dont think anyone seriously complained about blowout wins. I do think many though, have built a false construct in their minds that 1) Bama always blew teams out and 2) This is a normal thing that can and will always happen
The Saban era was a unique perfect storm because Saban was so good and it was a period of constant transition in the SEC. Saban was didnt really have a nemesis once Urbs left for a long time. Tennessee was terrible, Florida was terrible, Georgia and LSU were almost always solid but Saban still was better and had the continuity.
Saban didnt dominate consistently like this at LSU or Michigan State. Franchione once kicked his arse 31-0 in Baton Rouge. A terrible Shula team had him on the ropes at home until the worst no-call ive ever seen on a pass to the endzone that basically flipped the game.
The SEC now has a better roster of coaches than it has ever had. Even the teams as the bottom can just run a unique offense and go find veteran players perfect for that scheme in 1 year.
Fans have 2 options:
1) Readjust your expectations to that of any team can beat your team at any time and that you should be happy with all wins
or
2) Expect the Saban era results every year and be constantly disappointed

I mean…I’ll admit I’m paying more attention later in the games than I did previously during those boring blowouts.

Yep! I think that’s human nature. Nothing wrong with that!
