I played hs football in the early 2000’s, I could not imagine my mom or dad going on a social media site and talking like this about me. Going into the lockerroom after something like this is embarrassing. Little is going to be very good, but dad did not need to do all of this

We are basically the same age, and yeah this would have made you get ripped on mercilessly when I was growing up. I just don't get it. And it's not like this is an isolated thing or exclusive to Earl Little and his dad either. Parents going on social media to talk shite about their sons' coaches, teammates, etc. has become somewhat commonplace. Especially during portal season. I completely understand that you want to take up for your kids, but that's kind of the time in life when you're learning to fight your own battles and be your own man. Mom or dad stepping in isn't something you want to begin with, but these days they can step in for literally the entire world to see. I just can't even imagine doing this to my college aged son because I'd have been mortified if my parents did it to me. But it keeps happening, so that's why I asked the younger generation if it's just not something they care about anymore.

The obvious response to this is "exactly who should Earl Little have started over in 2023?"
The obvious answer is no one.
Koolaid? No
Arnold? No
Malachi? No
Key? No
Downs? No
If Arnold was told he wasn't gonna start in 2024 then by all means, I understand him hitting the portal.
But starting in 2023 with that kind of talent in front of you was never realistic.

I would have taken almost anyone over Jalen Key. He became a liability as the season wore on.

You mean post injury? I thought he was pretty solid before he got dinged up.

Earl Jr playing safety at 180 for the first time would have been fun.

He sure smashed the UM RB on the TD run. Almost tore his jersey collar.

My point exactly. Even taking into account the safety and hybrid spots where the hell was he ever gonna play in 2023?
Maybe he was upset about Amos getting time ahead of him? Even then I thought Amos was really solid for the most part.
Whatever the issue, we went from incredibly deep and talented at CB to pretty damn thin and young.
Am I missing anyone?
Domani Jackson
Trey Amos
Jaylen Mbakwe
Zay Mincey
Zabien Brown
Jameer Grimsley
That's two guys with experience and a bunch of TF.
Strange time to leave if the issue was PT.

Thanks, was using ourlads and they didn’t have them on the roster for some reason.
Any word on how that group looked in practice this year?

The word probably is the problem. Saban in the off-season said he was a co starter. Kid didn't see the field.
