Ask 247 sports, they gave Drew Sanders his ranking and Drew’s great athleticism is obvious to anyone that is not prejudice or brainwashed. Dallas gave Bama the pass rush they needed...but in the end that defense needed more than just a pass rusher. Hope Dallas keeps progressing as he has but nonetheless Drew will have an NFL career.
Maybe he comes back to Bama, maybe not. Either way, I am unashamedly who I am...yes, one of those!!

Let's be honest, if Saban asked Will to move inside next season and he spent all offseason learning the position he'd 100% look like prime Hightower.
Of course he would. He's better at literally everything a defender does except MAYBE pass coverage than every other LB we have. And he'd be better at it if we stood him up 5 yards deep and had him run sideline to sideline, too.

Drew is a great athlete and I wish he'd stayed because he will be a very good player.
I just vehemently object to the idea that he's a better anything at LB (other than maybe pass coverage) than Will Anderson.

How is it absurd? Will has made his bones off the edge and has shown no pass coverage abilities outside the box nor picking up backs or TE’s....Drew has shown all those things and a pass rush too.
Will is elite and I wish Bama could keep him forever or clone him. He’s a special player and has first class character too. I wouldn’t bet against him being able to pick other skills up either but as of yet, he hasn’t.

Drew has shown very little pass rush and isn't in the same stratosphere as Will against the run, either.
And pass coverage is way down the importance list with an OLB.

Because you're arguing that a guy who was 3rd on our OLB depth chart is a better all around football player than a guy who is both a top 5 passrusher and run defender in all of college football. It's a position so stupid that I question whether you're just a troll.

No, I absolutely did not say Drew was the better all round football player or better player period. Drew has shown better all round athleticism at Lb and shown to have all the skills needed to be a complete Lber...Will hasn’t shown that yet. He very well may do just that next year. As I said, I wouldn’t bet against him but as of now, he hasn’t...likely he hasn’t been expected to do much pass coverage yet.

Literally everything you said above is just wrong...in today’s game the OlB MUST have pass coverage skills. Will isn’t really playing OLB, he’s playing the edge off the line of scrimmage, more DE.
Anyways you got your opinion and I’ve got mine...mine damn sure won’t be changing. Moving on.

Agreed
Which we could have kept Drew. He's gonna be a heckuva player.

Maybe he’ll jump back from the portal, we can hope.

247 composite had Will Anderson, Chris Braswell, Eli Ricks, and Bryce Young all rated higher than Drew Sanders in his signing class. Dallas Turner was also rated higher than Drew on 247. You are misunderstanding why he was the number one athlete in his class. He was listed as athlete because they weren't sure if he was playing LB or TE at the college level.

Lol, of course they didn’t give Sanders the top athlete because of his athleticism...my God do you even believe what you said? I suppose every other year the top rated athlete was rated so because of his abilities.
Drew Sanders is an elite athlete, period.

I suspect Saban advised Drew he should switch to TE this spring, and Drew chose to transfer instead.

I doubt that completely...either way, glad Drew found a good coach like Pittman to play for. He should have a strong season beside Bumper Poole.

I think that TE is his natural position and I have caught hell for saying it. TE is the right place for him

What's your point ? I would presume you aren't ashamed of who you are.
