Music at practice, ice cream truck after practice, ...

Saban did leave us the LANK fiasco though.

Yall are missing my point. He had 3 stars at Washington. Literally 90% of the roster was 3 stars

It really shows how people's brains work that all the same shite was happening when Saban was coaching his final three seasons but the results were better so nobody considered what they were seeing with their own eyes.

I’m not referring to DeBoer specifically as a coach. Penix was the QB at Indiana and his stats weren’t even good when DeBoer left.

He brought that player with him cause he knew he could run his offense and he was coach able.

The difference is here at Bama you have 5 stars backing up 5 stars. You seriously don’t think it was easier to coach at Washington?

Saban got the results because he had a track record at Bama already to demand respect. These players have no reason to respect DeBoer right now. They think the same thing we do. You came from Washington with three stars. Do you seriously think Penix had any offers from anyone else after passing for 56% the year before he came to Washington?

Penix didn't finish any season at Indiana. He had ACL injuries and two years an shoulder injuries two other years. His stats weren't going to look great.

It's actually interesting how Penix ended up at Indiana. He was committed to Tennessee, when Jeremy Pruitt got the job a few days before he was supposed to sign, Pruitt pulled his scholarship. He had been in contact with Nick Sheridan who was a GA from the previous staff at UT and now up in Indiana with DeBoer.

When Pruitt pulled his scholarship he followed Sheridan to Indiana. When he transferred to Washington, he wanted to stay with DeBoer and Sheridan, he actually had several other offers, but wanted to stay with those guys.

I listed all of his offers in My previous post. I didn't realize Pruitt had pulled his scholly.
What a doofus.

He was also throwing to 3 stars who went pro. DeBoer can coach his players not the ones we already had

Total dick move. Pulled the offer something like two days before signing day. After a lot of the slots open to Penix were filled with other commits.

Pruitt was a great DC, but a complete idiot otherwise.

I suspect he meant the lack of historical success at Washington, not Coach DeBoer's success specifically

Washington is number 17 in all time wins and has two national championships, 43 bowl appearances, and three playoff games. Remember that Alabama played Washington and were huge underdogs in the Tide's first Rose Bowl. It's actually a historically successful program. It's just that almost no one seems successful compared to Alabama.

Oh, I know -- the line in the fight song "Remember the Rose Bowl, we'll win then" refers to that 1926 game. But it's the only interpretation that makes sense given collegefootballisbroken's original statement:
quote:

No, not saying it’s a DeBoer thing. I’m saying because of the lack of success at Washington I’m sure his players didn’t have that attitude.

Since DeBoer went 25-3 at Washington, including getting to the CFP Championship Game and winning the most games in a season in the program's history, saying he had "a lack of success at Washington" doesn't fit the facts.

Jalen McMillan and Rome Odunze were both 4* ESPN Top300 guys.
