You seem to be claiming that a team that is passing only with almost no running game - as Bama's offense this year - has been very good to great and competed for a title.

Not what I suggested in the slightest. Im not claiming anything either, there is no need for the knee jerk reactions. I heard a radio host that is well respected make this comparison and I thought it was interesting. If you are gonna be critical thats fine, but at least address what im actually saying.

To clarify...again...Spurrier had good teams when he was at Florida. His BEST teams were when he had dynamic backs to go along with his fun and gun offense. Deboer has had good teams(yes this year was a good, not great team) but if he had a dynamic back(obviously with a better Oline too) than his offense can be exponentially better...much like Spurrier's were.

This isnt an original thought I had, im literally just relaying what someone else thought, that I thought was interesting.

If I’m not mistaken, I believe Dear had the longest run of the year, and it was against ULM. Hill’s 30-yard run against OU was second. This is sad.

Did not have a 1000 yd rusher the year he won the natty.

Fred Taylor was their RB in '96. Guy lasted 13 seasons in the NFL and was a total beast.

If I'm remembering correctly he tore his ACL in '95 and was still recovering.

Your point still stands, they had multiple guys with 600+ yards rushing, could do it when they needed it and had great talent as well.

Not sure if that's enough talent to overcome the poor OL coaching. Better add in Dwight Stephenson as well.
