I live in Louisiana, Saints games are requiring proof of vaccination or a negative test x amount of days prior

So I was just wondering if anyone knows anything, I've looked all over but can't find anything

Also, apologies if this thread is meant for another part of the board, it's been a while since I've posted

Idk about that game, but Greg Sankey has stated an SEC policy requiring proof of either a vaccination or recent negative test to enter any SEC team stadium.

Eta: Actually, Sankey did not state that policy. I had misread an article in which the author was advocating for such a policy. My bad.

man, that's a bummer I was really looking forward to going, already paid for my tickets as well.. I'm not getting vaccinated any time soon and I definitely won't gamble with a test

You have a link for that? I haven't found an article where he's said a word about fans being vaccinated, and I think that's because he hasn't.

He's done absolutely no such thing.

Since Alabama has a state law very specifically stating that doing such is illegal, I'm thinking Mr. Sankey is going to have a hard time enforcing that policy in Auburn or Tuscaloosa.

Here’s the SI write up on some of his recent comments

SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey Makes Plea for Fans to Get Vaccinated

'The availability and efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines is an incredible product of science, not a political football and we all need to do our part to support a healthy society.'

quote:

"State policies limit the SEC's ability to establish Conference wide mandates. We need individuals--our fans--to join in accessing the vaccine, reducing COVID-19 spread, limiting the chances for more variants to emerge...and enjoying a full year ahead for college sports!"

I’m hearing masks of course, nothing of that sort as of yet. I won’t go if that becomes a thing.

My problem is that if you have the vaccine AND test negative, wtf do I still need to wear a mask? That is as unscientific as you can get. We might as well do a rain dance to make sure no one dies from covid.

Without even clicking the link, I guarantee you that's a Joseph Goodman story.

There isn't a worse writer in the state of Alabama.

Just grab a PCR rapid test the day or two before. On the off chance you test positive, you don’t want to be responsible for spreading it anyway.
