I wish we could have it closer to something like this.

I must admit, I am very jealous of OM new digs.

That's actually very similar to what I had in mind

I also wish we would so SOMETHING with that giant, boring, concrete wall on both sides.

Expand there, maybe.... but at least give me a mural or... anything. It's so bland.

Yeah, Ole Miss did it right. Love how steeply pitched the seats are. Very reminiscent of the classic fieldhouses like at Kansas and Butler. Some of the other newer arenas in college ball feel too commercial and NBA-ish. Ohio States, Wisconsin's, etc.

Yes. The "arena" look isn't appealing at all for college teams. The fieldhouse/pavilion looks give it so much more character.

Ole Miss has a nice facility......i particularly like how the students have designated courtside seats.....unlike all the empty courtside seats i see at Coleman cause TidePride donors can't be bothered to show up.

Notre Dame, based on court.

It looks horrible on the outside though. Way too similar to petroleum storage facilities

How was the atmosphere? My friend said it was packed, but didn't get nearly as loud as previous games like A&M and definitely not Tennessee.

Looked lame as frick on TV...but that probably had a lot to with that shittastic, no chest performance. Wasn't much to be excited about....Lots of fat bluehairs and gump types sitting on their hands in good seats. No energy in that dismal airplane hanger masquerading as a basketball venue.

Burn it all down.

That's extremely disappointing. As much hate as Coleman Coliseum gets, I really think it's one of the louder venues in the SEC. My ears were ringing for days after the A&M and Tennessee games this year.

No worries. I'll be there at the next home game and that's one person who loves to lose their voice.

Contrast that to the Aggie game last night......I know it was against UK and Aggie has everything to play for.....their venue is a dump, ugly as hell but crowd was pumped and students were out in force with Von Miller fist pumping in the crowd.

Hell even Auburn's crowd looked more energized in their nice new stadium.

Would certainly like one.

I haven't seen this brought up, but I guarantee UAB fans would be pissed to see Alabama get a new basketball arena before they get a new football stadium. One reason I can't see us getting a new arena anytime soon.
