Funny thing about a lot of those NFL guys in the 1960s (Not the superstars, just ordinary guys), a lot of them had side jobs in the offseason to pad their income. That I remember watching some of those old NFL films from back then and I remember from time to time seeing guys smoking cigarettes on the sideline (?!?!).

The #1 ranked player overall in the Class of 2027 is scheduled to announce tomorrow.
He's a LB from Georgia and he's expected to commit to Texas Tech.

Jesus. I know Tuscaloosa isn’t Vegas but you talk about remote. Lubbock is truly in the middle of nowhere and is a very boring town. Kind of amazing that Texas Tech is spending money like drunken sailors.

Doesn't it infamously rain mud in Lubbock because the rain mixes with dust and dirt in the air as it falls?

"happiness is lubbock texas in my rear view mirror", courtesy of the late great philosopher mac davis, i think.

Sort of. I live in Amarillo (100 miles due north). The air quality is terrible because there is a huge amount of dust in the air all the time due to the wind around here blows 24-7, 365 days a year.
After it rains (which is somewhat rare), you’ll see on flat surfaces where the rain drop captured dust on its way down. There’ll be a little ring of dust/dirt where the drop hit.

2027 5 * WR Monshun Sales will visit Alabama on November 8 for the LSU game, he tells me
The #2 WR in the nation is highly considering the Crimson Tide, as well as Ohio State. Steve Wiltfong believes the Tide currently has the edge over the Buckeyes.
Alabama was Sales’s dream school growing up, and his friends and coaches call him “Bama”
