He's been "liking" tweets by other Bama recruits in the past few hours. Obviously doesn't mean anything, but it's nice to see committed guys like Richard Young, Julian Sayin, and Jaylen Mbakwe encouraging him to roll with the Tide (and for Proctor to acknowledge those tweets)!

Let's get him

Saw this posted on the AU recruiting board.

Well, with all the negativity, here’s some good news. Confidence is sky high 5* Tony Mitchell will flip.

Is Tony and his father still up for the most money?

Considering he is in College Station this weekend I'm going to take this with a grain of salt.

Probably. This recruitment is playing out like most thought. You obviously can’t have enough rangy db’s, but every one of our DB’s committed now could play safety. We need corners

I think Mitchell sticks, he’s just enjoying the whole process before signing

247 has Tony on flip watch:

quote:

Mitchell committed to Alabama in June and has said all the right things in interviews about the strength of his verbal to the Tide. He’s also visited Tuscaloosa several times. He has also visited Auburn and Texas A&M quite a few times as well, returning to The Plains last weekend and coming back to College Station this weekend. Sources around those two programs feel good about landing Mitchell as well.

He has been on flip watch since the second he committed.

The number one QB in 2024 Dylan Raiola decommitted from Ohio State. Sayin is locked in to Bama so I don't think it has anything to do with us. Feels like somebody put a fat NIL deal on the table.

ETA: Some talk of him wanting to play for Matt Rhule at Nebraska wouldn't be my first choice but do you man .

Nah that can't be

That’s Dominic Raiola’s son. Former Nebraska all-American. His uncle is the OL coach too.

FWIW Bone thinks Proctor flips but isn’t putting in an official prediction yet

Mitchell in College Station does not concern me as much as Smith with his father at Auburn this weekend.

I’m encouraged by Russaw staying home this weekend, since him and Smith and apparently a package deal

Losing Mitchell obviously wouldn’t be optimal but he’s more, for lack of better term, replaceable than Smith is. Nobody we have committed or recruiting is anywhere near Smith’s level. Saban gotta do whatever it takes

Guys say they are package deals until they aren't. They rarely ever actually happen.

It seem the Barners are prioritizing Smith over Russaw with a bigger deal.

The Bama should match it and get both. Pretty simple

And most of them are a highly rated player with his lowly rated cousin or some shite. Everything that’s been reported seems like they’re going to the same school. I guess it could change last minute, but I could see this package deal being legit
