Why would you think Seth McLaughlin is not coming back?
A writer for RBR made a comment that some people believe Seth is not going to exercise his remaining year of eligibility.
quote:
McLaughlin is a bit of a mystery. We have seen many mixed messages on him that lead to believe that he is done with Alabama football after this season. The large amount of youth of this unit casts doubt that any of the reserves would leave except maybe Brockermeyer. If Saban is not happy with the candidates for center or right tackle or depth, we might see a transfer come in, but it might be after spring auditions. Tyler Steen was one who came in in April and became a starter.

ETA: I don't know what these "many mixed messages" are.

quote:I remember when we had unheralded guys on the OL develop. I think is was 2009- 2012 when Pendry and Stoutland were OL coaches and we smashed teams.
Feels like we have a lot of developmental projects in the Oline room from the last two cycles.

Mincey went live already, signed something with UF commit LJ McCray with him.

Well that seems pretty cut and dry. You never know but at the same time I think we all know…good luck to him.

They go to school together. It's not a cut and dry as it seems. Could just be building suspense, or McCray could have been there ouy of friendship. Had it been a UF recruit from another school, that would be a different story.

So you predict he signs with Bama?
Posted on 12/22/23 at 7:01 am to EGO3x
I don't predict anything when it comes to teenagers. I also try not to make assumptions. I think it would be odd that if you want to keep your announcement a secret, you would do something to make it obvious.

Really the only way to determine where a kid is going is to analyze how nice and/or new the hats are on the table when they announce. Other than that, it is impossible.

Over 40 schools have offered DJ Pickett. The junior out of Zephyrhills (Fla.) is one of the most coveted prospects in the country. Five schools have moved to the top of his list and they are Alabama, Georgia, Miami, Michigan and Oregon.

Ranking the Contenders: Five-star DJ Pickett
Looks like that game in Tampa might actually pay off.

1. ALABAMA
Alabama has thoroughly impressed Pickett throughout his recruitment and a recent visit to Tuscaloosa only reinforced everything about the Crimson Tide. The five-star safety loves that coach Nick Saban has heavy involvement with the defensive backs. He loves the seriousness and business-like approach of the coaching staff. The development is unmatched and it draws Pickett to the Crimson Tide. Others could make a push up his list but Alabama should be there until the end.

Just noticed Hoover LB Bradley Shaw still hasn't signed with anyone.

BOL says staff haven't been recruiting Shaw since early in the year. Maybe they get back involved.

I was always curious about that… I wonder if it was a character issue?

On3 and 247 show McCray signed with UF. Did he back out?

You think he been getting advice from George Pickens?

I don't see Seth coming back but I would love to see how Brockmeyer progresses next year. I think he would be a good center after this year.
