He's the #19 ranked player in that class and projected as a 5*.

He was probably just taking in a "big" home game. Fitz spoke to the team at the end of fall camp, and Saban came away from it incredibly impressed by him.
Said in a PC afterwards that Fitz talked about "The Process" in a way he had never thought of it before. You could hear it on his words, they definitely clicked.

Five thoughts on 2023 defensive ends

The defensive end group is already loaded led by five-stars David Hicks, Jr., Jayden Wayne, Samuel M’Pemba and Keon Keeley but there could be more five-stars coming.
So many others have really made a huge impression during their senior seasons, shown they’ve been unstoppable off the edge and could push up the ranks. We don’t want to go crazy with five-star rankings but when it’s deserved, we also don’t want to hold back on bumping players up.
At strongside defensive end, Notre Dame commit Brenan Vernon and Damon Wilson are two candidates who could be in the conversation. At weakside, Matayo Uiagalelei is definitely going to be in those talks along with Jaquavious Russaw and others.
This is one of the better defensive end groups in a long time.

There are plenty more undecided weakside ends. Four of the top six prospects at that spot have not committed yet with M’Pemba (Georgia is the leader), Keeley (Alabama and Ohio State are on top), Uiagalelei (Ohio State and Oregon are out front) and Russaw (Alabama and Georgia are on top) remaining on the board.

So much has been discussed concerning the top prospects at both defensive end spots but there are many players down the rankings who have made a big impression so far this season and could move up in the latest rankings release.
Alabama commit Yhonzae Pierre had a phenomenal summer and has been great this season so a move up is possible. Tennessee pledge Chandavian Bradley has bounced up and down the rankings as we try to figure out where is best for him and he’s also been impressive this season.
Louisville commit Adonijah Green, Miami (Fla.) Central’s Rueben Bain and others are on watch for a bump up after elite performances.

It feels like the four-star outside linebacker from Raleigh, Miss., could be even closer to changing his pledge although this feeling has been had before. Still, Perkins had a phenomenal visit and loved the environment in Tuscaloosa and his recruitment should be closely watched - especially after this weekend. “It was definitely my best night of SEC football,” Perkins said.

Hobbs hasn't taken his foot off the gas after seeing his recruitment blow up because of his performance at the Rivals Camp Series in Charlotte in the spring. The massive defensive lineman is having an outstanding senior campaign and it's clear he'll find his way into the Rivals250 in the next rankings update.
Where should he land? There will be a lot of shuffling in the order of defensive linemen but it wouldn't be surprising to see him inside the Rivals100 or right around that range.
Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama are all battling for his services and for good reason.

Ohio State commit Jason Moore leads the group followed closely by Georgia commit Jamaal Jarrett and Alabama native James Smith. Moore and Jarrett will be the focus in this article but Smith is very much in the conversation for the top spot at the position.
Moore's natural athleticism, length and ability to make plays in the backfield have propelled him to what has been a dominant senior season so far. Jarrett, on the other hand, is a massive interior presence that can throw around offensive linemen and stop ball carriers before they can cross the line of scrimmage. Each of them have different styles and fit different schemes so closely watching the rest of their senior seasons could help sort out the remaining questions about each of them.
