At the very least Reichard booms those kickoffs. I know he will kick from 5 yards further back next year, but he's putting those kicks through the end zone in many cases. Should be a good weapon there.

Shavers looks slow like a big ten receiver.

Ran a 4.38 at The Opening before his senior year.

I figured Shavers would be getting some playing time this year. Ross already playing a lot at Clemson. That 4.4 speeed hasn’t translated yet... not that I’ve seen anyway. He’s a good downfield blocker though

I’m not saying he is and maybe I’m
Thinking of the wrong receiver. Is he number 14. Because 14 looked slow in the game.

I don't see how Shavers has played enough to draw a conclusion either way. He's barely been on the field.

This is his second year and he has barely been on the field (This is incorrect by the way. He has played a bit due to our blowouts, he just hasn't had that much impact).

When he has been on the field he hasn't exactly been imposing and I remember a drop or two.

I don't see how someone can say they know he will be very good. If he wants to be he has a lot of work to put in.

So he's not as good as Jeudy, Ruggs, Smith, and Waddle. That doesn't mean he's not good or not capable.

And we don't even pass the ball in blowouts. I have a hard time believing he's been targeted twice this year, let alone had two drops.

I said I "think" Shavers will be very good. I didn't say I "know" he will.

He's 6'6" tall, not that comparable to guys like Jeudy, Smith and Ruggs, more of a niche WR. What I've read about him indicates that the staff expects him to become a significant contibutor after some needed development to polish his WR skills. He's been in the program a while now, so I'm fairly optimistic he'll be more capable soon.

Be pessimistic about him all you want. I don't have any desire to debate his future prospects with you. Instead, I'll continue to value Coach Saban's remarks about him over yours.

What makes you believe Shavers will be 'very good'?

For me he hasn't shown much and actual seems timid. I expect a big target like that to be more imposing, even if he isn't getting the ball.

Based off of what game film? He has looked good blocking. Hasnt had enough throws to him to be calling him timid.

Didn't Shavers suffer a leg or foot injury last season that more or less escalated a redshirt and thus delay his development as well?

Who is arguing that?

What was said was Shavers is believed to be very good. I don't believe we have seen anything to support that. If he wants to be very good like the other four he has a lot of work to do.

Waddle is very good. It's why he as a freshman inserted himself into the discussion for starting rotation.

Man you guys are sensitive.

Please provide the quotes where Saban supports your thoughts on Shavers.

Here is a good article on him.

LINK

He got hurt during spring ball and I think he is still getting back to when he was flashing in spring. LINK He needs development so his injury probably set him back further than the other guys who are more natural route runners.

Respect.

I know he has great measurables and straight line speed. My point was those things don't automatically equate to a big time receiver.

Hopefully he puts in the work and does.

We had 6 beast WRs last year and maybe two could showcase their ability with Jalrn throwing last year. What impact did foster and sims make but yet they are on nfl teams. Sims was beasting before his i jury and Foster is looking good. He has been put in more than mop up duty lately just haven't had the ball come his way.

We still have a strong chance of being pretty nasty at receiver in 2 years. Waddle, D. Smith if he stays, Shavers if he develops, Williams and possibly Zipperer. Slade Bolden is going to play in some capacity and Townsend could have a break through. I don't think they are as talented as our current crop but it will be very good and the most diverse receiving core we have had in a while. Add to that any 2020 studs who might break through and we are going to be rolling pretty strong.

I already told you I have no interest in debating with you. I couldn't care less about your opinion on Shavers. If you want to read what Saban has said about him, you can do quick and easy internet search.

You're very sensitive.

It's okay for people to have differing opinions than yours.
