Billingsley not solid anymore? Where is this talk coming from?
Probably from posters trying to scrape out the bottom part of the class to make room for "higher rated" players.
He's more athlete than TE at this point, but Billingsley is talented...

quote:Fairly recently, Billinglsey and his father both emphasized that he's solid. His dad said UF and LSU have been pushing to host him for OVs. He didn't rule out the possibilty of taking those visits, but neither have been scheduled. I don't think there's anything to that beyond them keeping a couple of backup options in play.

Following 2020 4-star WR Javon Baker's visit to Bama this past weekend, the Tide looks like the team to beat at this juncture, and he could even be close to a decision. -- per Tim Watts

DT Antonio Alfano's season is over as his team lost in the playoffs, but check out these season stats
76 tackles (28 for loss), 10 sacks, 17 QB hurries, 6 forced fumbles, a blocked kick, and 46 pancakes.
No idea how this guy is not a high 5 star. These stats are from the DT position, and the guy weighs like 280lbs. Hopefully he dominates his all Star game
I think he might be a guy who plays a lot next year, since we will be losing all our starting DL

Another reason we are still in it with Dean according to Bone:
Dean also has remained in regular contact with the Dean of Engineering at Alabama.
Bama ILB coach Pete Golding has the Tide in good shape with 5-star #1 ILB Nakobe Dean. Closing in on the final stretch, several college programs feel Bama is the team to beat. He is set to visit for the Iron Bowl. -- per Tim Watts

I like Bogle a lot.
You cant watch Bogles film without seeing flashes of Terrell Lewis. Long strides, and he is heavy handed which you cant teach. For instance if you watch Nolan film he will get to the ball sometimes, and not exactly "finish," but Bogle is dropping the ball carrier on contact.
I think Bogle is a much better fit for Bama honestly. His length will be so much more useful on the edge. I think one year into S&C he will be the total package i.e. able to set the edge in the run game, close passing windows with his length, and straight rush the passer.
I know Nolan was a combine freak, but his film doesn't exactly "pop" off the screen, and his televised games this year he disappeared.
I like "upside," and IMO Bogle has more of it. His frame alone gives him more upside IMO.
Thibo is a west coast kid that probably belongs on the west coast. If we are being honest no one could say that he would definitely be a kid that would embrace CNSs "process."
Bogle deep south kid, and he has a lot of fun playing football you can tell by watching his film dude loves the game. He brings a lot of swag.
I wanted to see the uga melt because I hate uga, (If Bama flipped Nolan) but I'm perfectly fine with getting Bogle, and once again you have to wonder if CNS didn't get his No.1 while everyone else was chasing the combine warriors.

I'm definitely all in on Bogle, this means no thibo and no Nolan Smith but I'm just fine. Nick asked me himself!!

Doesn't Gattis have a preexisting relationship with Julian Fleming ?
We are getting too close to losing the fab five (Jeudy, Ruggs, Smith, Irv, Waddle) to the NFL.
Time for Bama to land some elite WR's in the next class.

According to Rusty from Georgia, he feels Bama has a slight lead for Dean

Looks like Alfano is #8 on 247 Sports's rankings (not composite).

It would be impossible for us to be any further away from losing Waddle to the NFL at this point. The guy is a true freshman.
Jeudy, Ruggs and Smith are all true sophomores.
Sky ain't falling just yet.

Evan Neal just picked up another CB to Bama from FSU mod Christopher Nee.

Looks like you read what he said wrong. Also while we have TEs on the roster none are like Smith athletically.

The 2019 recruiting cycle is winding down. High school football seasons are coming to a close. Playoffs and all-star circuits await. But the rankings are in a constant state of self-reflection and with a huge chunk of senior film now in the books and with the December early signing period looming (Dec. 19-21), it’s time for a rankings overhaul.
UPDATED TOP247 FOR CLASS OF 2019
While this update amounts to our most comprehensive Top247 edit since the summer, there’s still a lot of work to be done to nail down this class. Playoffs, state all-star games, All-American events, the further publication of senior film and the continued feedback from our network of reporters will keep this list changing into January. But we’ve got a lot of moves that don’t need any more delay...

RISE OF THE RUNNING BACKS
Heading into the class of 2019 cycle, it didn’t look like a particularly deep crop of backs, but there have been a few to emerge that have altered our thinking. It starts with Trey Sanders at IMG Academy. The uncommitted five-star is into the top 10 at No. 9 overall after doing his best work in the biggest games for his powerhouse high school. He posted 121 yards on 13 carries against Hoover and logged 170 on 15 carries against Mater Dei. Sanders’ senior season has showcased that he’s much more than just a big back as his workload his watered down with other skill players.

NEW FACE JOINS THE 5-STAR RANKS
There is only one new addition to the five-star ranks and it comes in a player that has always had five-star talent. Alabama commit Antonio Alfano has had some off-field red flags that have muted his rise in the rankings but after a focused senior season, we’re ready to slot him where his talent dictates.
The 6-foot-5, 270-pounder posted more than eight tackles per game, had 28 tackles for loss and 10 sacks in a dominating season. That is all in addition to him posting a 4.82 40-yard dash, a 4.27 short shuttle and a 36-inch vertical in the spring at 275 pounds. Alfano’s new home is at No. 8 nationally.

As a freshman, Miller Forristal showed that kind of athletic ability prior to injury. What happened, did the injury slow him down?
I thought he would be a weapon by now.
