I have been heavily downvoted for saying this in the past, but academics as a deciding factor (not major or degree specialization.. I'm speficially talking about how they weigh and rank university degree value) is the most overrated shite ever.

Nobody ask about where I got my degree or my masters. I employ people.

This kid is setting himself up for the same future and they are trying to convince him academic value of his degree will be the determining factor.

Bull shite.

It's about who you know and how you managed the money you make. Then it's about how you reinvest that capital and how you manage this investment.

He isn't some regular student.

The opportunities Alabama would open for his journalistic aspiration are infinite.

I mean however you feel about it I can promise you Michigan uses that in their pitch. I'm just throwing out ideas. It is 18 year olds we are talking about. It would be remarkable if academics was top of the priority list.

Out of the new coaches, Scott has been the least impressive on the recruiting front.

I don't think there's anything to be concerned about with Coach Scott's abilities as a recruiter. Hill really likes Coach Scott. Other DB recruits have said the same. ETA: Saban himself was very involved in recruiting Hill. Tosh was too.

Wrong

Correct

Michigan is ranked as one of the largest and best alumni networks in the US. Last rank had them at 3rd with alum owning businesses in every state in over 150 countries around the world.

A degree for the most part has little value but where you get it has the most value it that college alumni network can help you land a top job anywhere in the US and/or world. So who know starts at the college you attend.

I would have been excited if Hill committed to us but to be honest the last Rivals update on him was pretty rough. Basically said we watched him play against stiff competition and he didn’t look like a five star.

I think the exact statement was that he didn’t standout.

That's good, but we need him to get commitments and not friends

We're not going to win every recruiting battle, even the ones Saban is heavily involved in.

I'm confident we will land a good safety prospect if we desire to. Saban has proven he's great at evaluating safeties. Plus, good safeties aren't hard to find like good d-linemen. We'll be fine.

Yep. DeMarcco Hellams, Christian Williams and Brandon Turnage are all excellent high 4-star DB prospects. Even if we end up just adding Noa Pola-Gates, we'll have a very strong DB class.

Williams, Turnage and Pola-Gates are versatile too -- they can play S or CB. Maybe we can flip Nick Cross, Akeem Dent or Daxton Hill. If not, Pola-Gates, come on down. He really wants to come to Bama.

ETA: Devonta Lee is still out there too. Although Tyrique Stevenson is trending UGA vs Miami, he has said he wants to OV Bama with his mom. Jalani Williams has quietly visited UA twice and plans to OV for the ULL game.

I'm not seeing that. Turnage has been saying his commitment is solid and has been visiting Bama regularly. He's coming this next weekend too. He's also having a good season so far.

havent read the smoke signals to indicate that recently, matter of fact none of the "reported" flippers seem to be on the griddle.
All I know is that from here on out, just want actual 5* guys who want to be part of the Bama magic team. AND A KICKER / PUNTER we won't blow up when they get on campus.
Wonder if we can get JK to come by on a by week and offer some words of wisdom to Delong? Kid needs a bit more speed from catch to kick and about 5-10 yards on the distance. (not going to address PK... I have given up, just praying for the Hoover kid...) Wife says I am overly drama and wishing out my arse... praying, woman, Im praying. Ask and ye shall receive...pray, pray, pray!!!

That ranking shite doesn't mean anything unless you're starting out as an intern or from the bottom, trying to impress and get a good start.

Once you enter the workforce it is about who you know, who you have worked for, what your skillset consists and how quick you are to learn and adapt.

That shite means nothing to a future millionaire who will be employing people or working as an analyst or entertainment personality.
