This makes me wonder what percentage of first round draft picks start as freshman. I know playing in the NFL is not the only reason guys want to play early but there are a couple of draft guys who always mention they like guys who started freshman year and I always think to myself if the guy started because the team was crap what good is that.
I think a number of guys don't realize that getting thrown into the fire right away before they are ready is not always a good thing.

Our boy TigerPaw posted on the Auburn board that Clay Webb will be in Auburn this weekend.
Also says Justin Eboigbe (spelling????) is not firm according to AU coaches.

Unlike Fulmer, Pruitt has to deal with Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, and Clemson being top programs. Not to mention UNC being decent again. Even Fulmer recruited nationally. Pruitt best bet is to target realistic star players and mined for gems, ones that'll be open to a redshirt if possible. Butch Davis did this at Miami.

Unless you are talking about BBall this statement should not be there. They are currently 0-2 including a 41-19 beat down by ECU last Saturday. If Fedora makes it through the season most will be amazed.

Like any 1st round drafted QB in the NFL or anyone drafted by the Browns.

UNC still pulls in talent. No, not Bama like talent, but talent you can still win with in cfb.
Here's an article on Butch Davis at Miami:

Justin Eboigbe, after recent UF visit: "They made an impression, but Alabama is still atop of my list. I'm still committed to Alabama. I'm still sold on them, but I always try my best to look at other colleges I might be interested in because it's not final until you sign. That's one thing that I'm always thinking when I go to a college. I go with an open mind, but in the back of my mind, I'm always with Alabama."

Between there being actual games to watch, work picking up and the lack of commits I'm slowing down but not burnt out. I never thought I understood recruiting so that part hasn't impacted me

Sometimes Saban has a development plan in place for these guys for them to really learn the craft first which means maybe they don't see the field as much as they would like initially. In those cases, it generally works out well for them as they are better positioned come draft time. Generally, it has not been an issue though.
That's what a lot of people either don't see or choose to ignore. Why go there and wait to play? You could go to this much lesser school, play against much less talent daily, and put up great numbers against lesser competition. Some choose to see it differently I guess. I look at it as which prepares you more? Playing against Saban lead defenses of 4/5 stars day in and day out while working your way onto the field or playing against 0/2/3 stars in games immediately?

UNC has always pulls talent but so do other schools. I doubt what UNC will do will affect anything that UT does.

It's a zero sum game, the more schools pulling good-great talent then the less there is for UT. Pruitt will have to work harder than Fulmer ever did.

Nakobe Dean is a hard guy to read. I wrote that one person at his game the other day felt Alabama held the edge if any at this point, but he still has several visits to go. If pressed to make a pick, I'd lean towards Bama.

I know I'm beating a dead Renegade right now but FSU is a mess. I hope it has some influence on Dean and Thibs. They might get boat raced by Syracuse. Thier offensive line recruitment has been bad for a few years and it is on full display against 'Cuse.
