With Hurts and Mac Jones likely transferring after this year, does Bama again take two QB in the 20 class?

Hurts will transfer (absent something unexpected). Mac Jones will not (absent something unexpected).
Mac will likely have an excellent opportunity to be a two year starter.
ETA: Having said that, I think we take two QBs in the 20 class assuming we can get a second one we like. I don't think it has anything to do with transfers so much as not passing up on a top talent (and perhaps some insurance in case current commit changes his mind (doesn't seem likely) or decides to go solely the baseball route).
Now, having said that, I think we maybe take two QBs for a couple other reasons. One, not because we fear Mac leaving but just because now QBs bolt so you better stock up a bit more (for example, I doubt they expect Hatcher, Taulia and Tyson to all three still be on campus in four years). Two, maybe Saban is placing a higher emphasis on QB than he has in the past. Saban has definitely shown that he adapts and perhaps this is another adaptation.

Why would Mac transfer? He’s about to be #2 at Bama and he’s shown that he can lead this offense. With the offense returning pretty much all of the playmakers, he should get a ton of time next year and step into the starting role as a RS Junior.

This is why we can’t have nice things.

Mac won't be playing much until 2020 and that is if Tua leaves early. Little Tua, probably takes the job then.
Really not much point of Mac sticking around. He won't be starting anytime soon.
He could be the staring QB at a Jr college next year and have two years to start somewhere else after leaving Jr college. As is stands now at Bama, he might never start.

I hear you, but Mac can't go the juco route next year because this is his second year of college now (he would have to leave now to go juco).
He could very easily graduate next year though and leave with two years if it becomes clear that Lia is better.
So Mac looks like he will at least be the back-up next year. If he left after next year, I would hate to lose him but that would probably mean something very good for us - either that Tua is sticking for his senior year or that one of Hatcher/Lia/Tyson is clearly better (which would be pretty awesome because I believe Mac is a quality SEC starter).

I may be wrong, but it seems like I remember Carson Beck saying BAMA only plans to take one QB for the 2020 class, which would be him.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
Oh yeah. I doubt Mac transfers. If he continues to work hard and progress, he has a great opportunity to possibly be the starting QB for the 2020 season.
I doubt Saban is already planning on handing the starting job to one of two kids that have never thrown a pass in crimson. They'll have to earn it, and Mac can throw the football and will be in his 4th season at UA.

Good memory.

South went on to say that Beck also told him that Alabama only planned on taking one quarterback in the 2020 class so it will be interesting to see if that changes depending on how the position shakes out in Tuscaloosa over the next two years.

Robby Ashford may make our staff alter those plans if he keeps it up.

Nearly 75 percent of the Rivals250 in the class of 2019 were committed to college programs entering their senior year. That leaves a very small pool of potential prospects as programs gear up for the early signing period, which starts on Dec. 19. This week we take a position-by-position look at the top prospects still on the board.

LINK ]Kayvon Thibodeaux, 5-star #1 WDE,
Westlake Village, CA
A planned early enrollee, Thibodeaux will sign in the December period which means he has a little over three months to make a college selection. The work toward that decision has already begun, with a Florida State official visit taking place on Sept. 1. Future official visits are being planned to Alabama for the Sept. 21 weekend and Oregon for the Nov. 2 weekend. Florida and USC are expected to get the final two official visits for the five-star defensive end.

The Defensive Line MVP of the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge presented by adidas in June will miss the start of his senior season after suffering a knee injury last month. While he is unable to play, Bogle has ramped up his college visits. He made an unofficial to Alabama for their home opener, then took his first official visit to Texas A&M this past weekend. Upcoming official visits are scheduled to Ole Miss, Tennessee and Alabama, with Florida, Florida State, Louisville, Miami and Oregon also still in-play.
Note: Bogle attended the Bama vs Louisville game; not Bama's home opener. Rivals is...

Houston, TX
An extremely well-rounded defensive end prospect who had a good showing at the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge this summer, Stripling has been a highly-coveted defensive end by programs across the nation. He determined in early summer that Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma, Texas and Texas A&M would receive his five official visits, but the dates of those trips have yet to be set. A final decision on his college destination is not expected until those visits have taken place.

Robinson has narrowed down his list of 20 scholarship offers, but the exact schools that make up that top group is being kept close to the vest by the Phoenix-area prospect. A few schools can be confidently assumed, though, because he has set official visits to Cal on Oct. 12, Nebraska on Nov. 16 and Alabama on Nov. 23. Stanford is also considered a strong contender in this recruitment and is a good bet to get one of the final two official visits.
