UGA fans are past annoying.. I'm ready for the season to start as I really feel they will take a step back on the field and it was rustle the hell out of their fan base. They really want to be important so bad.

Is there something up with Thib we do not know about. It seems he makes it a point that is really likes USC but that they do not seem to be recruiting as hard. Top player in country in your backyard should be a priority. Unless they know is leaving the state.

And as talented as Thibodeaux is, he doesn't have a clear-cut position in the current Trojan defensive scheme.

LINK ]Who is USC's must-get prospect for the class of 2019? (247Sports/USC, July 19)
quote:

With just 10 verbally committed prospects for the recruiting class of 2019 Clay Helton and the Trojans still have some work to do before Signing Day. Helton and his staff have closed extremely well in the past and in the above video we take a look at which players are really the most important for Helton to sign on the dotted line.

The three names we felt were the must-gets for USC are all local prospects that are all rated as five-stars, receiver Kyle Ford, athlete Bru McCoy and defensive end/outside linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux.

All three of those players are exceptional talents who would almost certainly contribute early in their college careers, but the name we went with for a number of reasons is Orange Lutheran's Kyle Ford, the newly minted five-star who absolutely destroyed the competition down at The Opening Finals.

On the surface, USC is not really in dire need of receivers with three players already verbally committed. But Ford showed just how much of a difference maker he can be, catching 91 balls over two days, nearly double what the second highest reception total was. If USC doesn't put the full-court press on Ford and allow him to go to a rival Pac-12 school, not only will the Trojans have to play against him for the next few years but the perception of not landing someone that talented and that close to home could have a negative impact on recruiting going forward.

To be fair, Ford, McCoy and Thibodeaux would all fit into that category, local five-star prospects who in typical years would likely end up at USC. That is why all three of them could be considered must-gets. But if you had to pick just one, we would put the highest priority tag on Ford. McCoy plays multiple positions and if he ended up at another school, it likely wouldn't have as big of a negative impact as missing out on Ford. And as talented as Thibodeaux is, he doesn't have a clear-cut position in the current Trojan defensive scheme.

Having said that, in no way, shape or form should USC be passing on any of these guys. Look for this staff to step up the recruiting push for these three gems sometime during the early part of the football season.

I would not be surprised if he ends up at USC especially if they have a good year.
Alabama has not pulled too many kids from CALI. In the Saban era, Harris and Tommy Brown but I think his dad is an Alabama graduate which I am sure helped. Maybe 1 other if I am forgetting. However, it is hard to pull this CALI kids to move down to the Southeast for the West coast.

Thibodeaux said earlier this year that he's very interested in playing in the Southeast.

All starts in the trenches. Bama and Georgia are even on the O-line this past year and now. But on D-line Alabama is blowing them out of the water. They can spin the 3* star DL all they want. Bama has and is recruiting and evaluating significantly better. Luckily for them is the East will hide many a deficiency.

Blake Barnett and a few Jucos from Cali as well. We have also been number 2 with a reasonable number of west coast guys. We have a couple of pick ups from Utah, Latu and Bateman. Relatively speaking I would argue we have done well considering the region is 2000 miles away.

I agree - one of their new beat writers (not even a fan) said on the radio today in Nashville that UGA was beginning a dynasty. The radio host corrected him in a good natured way by saying “you might want to wait until you actually win at least one national championship before declaring a dynasty has started.”

By no means I am saying Alabama has failed in recruiting and should be getting or have signed more kids from CALI. Also, my post was referring to CALI only.

Blake B I would rather just forget about him.

I am sure he did but it would not surprise me if he stays in CA. BTW, if he does not pick Alabama I would rather him go to USC than FL ST.

Stop putting Cali in all caps . The point being made is that we have a better chance than most in the south of pulling someone from the west coast. In regards to KT from all reports his leaders are FSU, USC and us. I agree, I think if USC pushes they have a great chance but no one who has watched KTs recruitment would be shocked if he went to FSU or Bama even with a strong push from USC.

ETA: Even though it isn't Cali you can include Kaho considering Reno is so close to the border.

If Bama gets Dean or To'oto'o at ILB, but misses on Thibodeaux and Bogle at OLB, they might go after Cameron Latu's cousin, Laiatu Latu.

Two 5-Stars With One Destination in Mind

quote:

The 2013 California All-Star game was filled with some of the most talented kids in the state of California. The competition was fierce and demanding but out of struggle a friendship grew, one that will have a major impact on the 2020 recruiting class.

Kendall Milton and Elias Ricks joined forces in 2013 and have continued to look at one another as the golden standard in friendship.

“We met in the 6th grade at the Cal State All-Star game,” Milton said. “We kept playing in games together and we kept in touch.”

Ricks has cherished the relationship that he and Milton have and refers to their relationship as something that is bigger than football.

“That’s my brother, I’ve known him for years,” Ricks said.

Both guys have blossomed into two of the top players in the nation. They both are ranked as 5-Stars and are two of the best players in the state of California for the 2020 recruiting class.

Milton has made a name for himself on the offensive side of the ball with his amazing speed and agility. He is the No.2 running back in the nation for the 2020 recruiting class. He currently is the featured back for Buchanan High School and is looking to make a huge impact in his Junior season.

“He is a dog, just like me,” Ricks said.

Ricks has made his presence felt on the other side of the ball. He is one of those special lengthy defensive backs at 6-feet-2-inches and 180 pounds. His height gives him the ability to fight for those 50/50 balls in the air. He has risen to the No.1 cornerback in the nation for the 2020 class.

“He is an animal on the field,” Milton said. “A real ball hawk.”

They now both have one goal in my mind.

“That is my brother,” Milton said. “We talk all the time and we definitely plan on balling at the same college.”

Ricks’ feelings are quite similar.

“We know we are playing together at the next level and I’ve always wanted to play with Kendall again,” Ricks said.

Alabama has offered both Milton and Ricks and they both are interested. The Tide will have no problem with landing both guys and adding them to their pretty decent 2020 class, which currently has seven commits.

I think he means Alabama would argue with them both joining the tide. He just worded it badly.
