LINK ]Tuesday's top performers from The Opening: West (247Sports)
Note: Relevant segments posted below.

FRISCO, TX — The Opening Finals wrapped up on Tuesday at The Star. Nike 7on7 competition continued early in the morning and culminated with the championship game. The Final Five Lineman competition was a physical and entertaining event as always. 247Sports was on hand to document it all. In addition to a national top performers piece and final ranking of the Elite 11 quarterbacks, here is the final West edition.

LINK ]Kayvon Thibodeaux, WDE, Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian - Thibodeaux had as good a week as he had hoped and probably better than we had expected. His speed rush was just about impossible to stop. One thing he has to work on is because his quickness off the ball is so key, to time it better because he got caught jumping offside a lot, including one stretch in the 1on'1s, where he jumped offsides five times. But then he won all three of his reps and then did the same thing in the Final Five. As Thibodeaux gets stronger in college, with his speed off the edge, he will be an elite pass-rusher.

LINK ]Justin Flowe, ILB, Upland (Calif.) - Flowe suffered a knee injury the first day of 7v7 play and had to sit out the last two days of the week. It was disappointing as Flowe showed during the Nike Camp workout on Sunday he’s among the nation’s top ‘backers right now as a 2020 athlete. No one plays with more aggressiveness and maniacal effort then Flowe. He plays on the edge all the time and could be the top linebacker in the country right now as a junior.

Are you at least open to the possibility that you may have watched the wrong film?

I watched his Junior film and liked what I saw. I disagreed with some who weren't that impressed when Cheyney initially committed.
Over the last couple months Cheyney has done some camps and he hasn't really impressed.. again I'm not using a site's recollection; I'm stating what I saw.
If you have the time to go back and actually watch all his videos from camp. He is easily stone-walled, doesn't really have a second move and doesn't really explode off the line.
He is still a good prospect but not a super elite one. If we do sign him, he will be a project player who will take some years to develop.

FRISCO, TX — The Opening Finals wrapped up Tuesday at The Star. Nike 7on7 double-elimination tournament began early in the morning and wrapped up that afternoon, with Team Overdrive taking down Team Boomin, 26-8. Meanwhile, the linemen had their Final 5 competition in between games that morning. 247Sports was on hand to document it all. In addition to a national top performers piece and ranking of the Elite 11 quarterbacks, we’ve divided our coverage of the top performers into regional notebooks. Here is the Southeastern edition.

-- While five-star wide receiver and Georgia commitment Jadon Haselwood (Ellenwood, Ga./Cedar Grove) seems to cool off a bit on the final day, four-star wide receiver and Auburn commitment LINK ]George Pickens (Hoover, Ala./Hoover) turned it up a notch, making 15 catches with four touchdown grabs. Those who got their first look at Pickens were wowed all week in Frisco. His size, catch radius and ability to make contact tested catches impressed as much as any at the deep and talented wide receiver position. No wonder several schools are still trying to flip him from Auburn.

-- Five-star linebacker LINK ]Nakobe Dean (Horn Lake, Miss./Horn Lake) picked up where he left off, breaking up four passes and hauling in two interceptions. The 6-foot, 216-pound prospect shows up as a sawed-off, downhill player on film, but there was no doubting his ability in coverage on Tuesday and throughout the event. His skill set lines up perfectly with what should be the most heated recruitment in the Southeast.

Don’t let him fool you. PS4 is where the gamers are. Xbox kinda like the minor leagues.

This class is really fun to watch come together. After the "down" year last year, this class is just looking FILTHY! On a negative note, we've got some work to do in the WR/TE area.

Yep. Shaping up very nicely so far. My way too early predictions for our WR/TE class:
Receivers & Tight Ends (3)
4* WR George Pickens 6-4/190 AL hudl
4* WR/S Devonta Lee 6-2/212 LA hudl
4* TE Jahleel Billingsley 6-4/216 IL hudl

We have an xbox sitting in it's original box that was a gift for my kids a few years ago. My wife won a 60" smart TV and a PS4 in a raffle on post at Ft. Leavenworth. We gifted the PS4 to her brother and his kids.
Video games died for me with after original Nintendo. We have an N64 I bought in college strictly for 007. We break that out occasionally when we are having family game night.
Otherwise, my kids are outside playing or actively breaking shite in my house. I guess we're the new nerds.

Coach Saban is going scorched earth with this 2019 class. Byron Young is a stud

I have to completely disagree. I have both, played and won many, many tournaments, been in several clans, and far better overall multiplayer on live. Lag doesn't effect as many matches, issues in games get fixed faster, and almost all of the multiplayer is developed on lives platform then ported to ps. Way to many 10 yr olds screaming f- this f- that, talking crap, and t bagging every kill on their way to a 5 kill 20 death match on PS4. Sometimes you can't find a decent match if you aren't playing with your crew.
