Just like the guy above you said. Who hyped them up? Did Nick Saban or one of the coaches? Everything is fluid just remember that.

Banks’ only commit so far is Will Reichard. He has it harder than the others because his area is the West Coast.

He is the primary recruiter for:

OLB Kayvon Thibodeaux
DL DeMarvin Leal
DE Stephon Wright
DB Noa Pola-Gates

Scott is only listed as a primary recruiter for 4 prospects that we aren’t really in on so I’m not sure what his role in recruiting really is.

I just wish more people would look at it realistically. A group of recruits send their film to Bama, come to Bama for camps, play and practice in front of Bama coaches, and then the coaches decide what order to rank them.

For some reason the opinions of writers, who are not good enough talent evaluators to work for a major university in a support role, get placed above the opinions of coaches who are far more qualified.

Equate it to a different sport and it would seem ridiculous. Take nascar for example. Assume you took 5 drivers and 5 crew chiefs and let them look at and test 200 cars. They come back with a list of top 10 card. If ESPN posted a list of top ten cars based on what their writers thought over what the drivers and chiefs preferred, no one would be yelling for the drivers to pick ESPNs list.

I think the biggest issue is the fans do not get to see the schools board and don't know who is where.

Just a rambling rant.

Good illustration. Another thing that's very important for Saban and his staff in evaluations is how much the players understand, appreciate and desire what Bama's program is all about. Notice what the guys who've committed early to Bama have said about why they chose Bama.

Unless Saban himself is now a source for one of our "insiders" I don't see how you can put any stock into what you read on message boards as far as player evaluations go and where certain guys actually stand in the staff's player rankings. That shite is practically a trade secret, which is why the rumors of Kirby doing his best Fatlock impression while he slithered out the door was considered such a horrible thing.

4* 2020 CB Dwight McGlothern just tweeted this:

Big news coming #RTR

We offered him last July. Demetric Warren just CB’d him to Bama.

Have to think that if Banks pushed for Pola Gates we could get him

Saban and his staff are sneaky too. Sometimes they're recruiting guys much harder than is publicized. Saint and I have talked offline about how hard it is to not get blind-sided by new commitments that aren't currently on our Top Targets list. No matter how hard we try it still happens.

I'll defer to the staff if they let him commit now but I would prefer to wait a bit. He's ranked the 33rd best player in the country in 2020. If we take a commitment from him now that pretty much closes the door on somebody in the top 25 in 2020.

That "bad" recruiting class last year, really must have pissed Saban off. This is impressive. Gattis and Tosh are hell on wheels and Key seems to have found his stride. Kids who wait this year are gonna be left crying at the table in February.

Serious props to Josh McMillon. Seems like a really classy person.

Dean will be in attendance for the Champions Cookout on Friday. Big news being able to get him on campus 2 weekends in a row:

Nation’s No. 1 inside linebacker says ‘Alabama did everything they needed to do’ after official visit
quote:

Alabama didn’t have one of its star defensive players host the nation’s No. 1 inside linebacker Nakobe Dean on his official visit to Tuscaloosa this past weekend. Instead, the Crimson Tide had redshirt junior Joshua McMillon, who has 5 career tackles, host him. It seems like the plan to use a linebacker, who has seen little playing time after being a top recruit coming out of high school, to help recruit Dean, a 5-star prospect from Horn Lake (Miss.) High School, worked.

“He told me that he was glad that he made the decision to go to Alabama,” Dean said of McMillon. “He told me that he’s had so much fun and how Alabama has been good to him since he got there. Him not being able to play much and still liking Alabama says a lot. I feel like everything he was saying was real to me and he was talking from the heart.”

The relationship built with McMillon and other Alabama players was important for Dean on this visit to Tuscaloosa. He’s visited the campus over five times now since his recruitment began but never fully got a chance to sit down with the players and go in-depth with them. That’s why he called this trip to Tuscaloosa “completely different” than his past trips.

“Hanging with the players was great,” Dean said. “They told me all about the schedule and how much would be demanded out of me if I did decide to go to Alabama. They answered every question I had. They gave me huge insight into the program.”

Not only was Dean satisfied with the visit to Alabama, but so was his mother, Neketta. Dean’s mother is going to play an important role in her son’s commitment, which will happen in December.

Academics are what’s most important to Dean and his mother, so that was heavily focused by the Alabama staff. Dean, who has a 4.7 GPA and hasn’t made a “B” since middle school, is planning on majoring in either chemical or mechanical engineering when he gets to college.

The Deans got to spend lots of time with the head of University of Alabama’s College of Engineering, Dr. Charles L. Karr, who personally gave a tour of the school to the family. That was well-received.

“Dean Karr is crazy,” Dean said with a laugh. “He’s full of energy. He made the engineering tour great. He made me really enjoy everything about it. His energy just made me really like the visit. And my mom, she loved the visit. I feel like she had as much or even more fun than I did. She took advantage of everything. We had a dinner at Coach Saban’s house. They had some karaoke that first night for the parents. I heard they had a really good time there.”

The 6-foot, 220-pound prospect won’t be away from Tuscaloosa for long. He’s planning on returning this weekend because his high school team is participating in a 7-on-7 tournament on campus. Alabama’s premier summer event, the Champions Cookout, is Friday, and the plan is for Dean to attend that and stay through the weekend with his high school’s 7-on-7 team.

He also plans on returning this fall for at least one game. But at this point, Dean feels like there’s nothing left for him to see at Alabama, and that’s a good thing.

“That’s not going to stop me though from coming back for more visits,” Dean said. “Now when I go to Alabama, it’ll be more about hanging out with the players and building more relationships with guys I would play with if I do go to Alabama.

“Alabama is high on my list, of course. I just can’t say they are No. 1 right now because I still have to visit more schools first.”

Georgia and LSU are guaranteed official visits from him. He’s not sure if Mississippi State and Ole Miss will get an official visit because he’s been to both schools so many times and can visit them often.

The Bulldogs are certainly the team that the Tide have to worry about right now. Dean’s mother called the first visit the family took to Athens the best one yet. He then followed that visit to Athens with a return trip shortly after. Several recruiting reporters in the industry now believe UGA is the favorite to land Dean.

“The Georgia visits were good,” Dean said. “I worked out for them and got a chance to see how Coach Schumann coaches. But I think I got some crystal balls to Georgia probably because my mama, after the scavenger hunt visit, told some reporters that that was her favorite visit. That’s why I think some reporters think I’m going to Georgia.”

Dean said he doesn’t see many differences between Alabama and Georgia. The only difference he sees between the championship game participants are the people at both schools, and he has good relationships with both staffs.

But after this weekend, Dean says, there’s nothing the Tide can do to improve its standing with him. He feels like the visit was a success in every way possible.

“At this point, Alabama did everything they needed to do,” he said. “It’s just me now seeking out these other schools to see what they have to offer. I’m looking for the best fit out of everything from defensively to academically. I want to love everything about the school I choose.”

We'll see. His momma loves Garner & that tends to work out in our favor (Derrick Brown, Marlon Davidson, Montravius Adams...)

But no doubt will have to recruit him until the finish

Congrats on the pickup. Appreciate what you bring to the board from another teams perspective.

Part of me feels this recruiting cycle is also a little bit of a shot at Kirby. I know we are not taking recruits based on location, it is on our evaluations, but this is the best we have recruited GA since 2012. I think CNS is sending a message.

Kirschner’s SEC Country Article on Eboigbe:

BREAKING: Alabama lands commitment from top 10 DE Justin Eboigbe

quote:

Alabama’s No. 1 class in the 2019 recruiting cycle got better on Monday afternoon. Justin Eboigbe, a 4-star defensive end from Forest Park (Ga.) High School, committed to Alabama over Auburn, Clemson, Georgia and Tennessee. Eboigbe becomes the Crimson Tide’s 16th commitment in the 2019 class.

Eboigbe hasn’t been mentioned much with other defensive line targets in this cycle, but he has been on the radar for the Tide since March.

“A lot of my family members are Alabama fans,” Eboigbe told SEC Country shortly after his offer. “Since a lot of my family is from Alabama, they grew up Alabama fans.”

His grandmother, to whom he’s very close, lives in the Yellowhammer State.

“She’s really been there for me a lot in my life,” said Eboigbe, who plans to study sports management in college. “She’s been right there for me with my mother.”

Eboigbe is the fourth defensive line commitment for Alabama, joining 4-star prospects Antonio Alfano, Rashad Cheney and DJ Dale.

Again, thank you!! Great job!!

No question. After the gloating from UGA, dawg fans and Kirby last year after signing the #1 class even though Bama BEAT them for the natty just weeks prior...Saban is definitely sending a message with this class. He restructured the entire staff for all intents and purposes to make this staff stone-cold killers on the recruiting trail, and it's showing. The question at this point isn't whether Bama will sign the #1 class, the question is simply how epic will this #1 class be?

When another one comes out of no where it means we have missed on one of the other guys. Even when the guy we got is ranked higher.

Idk if that's what you think or if maybe you're just generally saying that's what a lot of people think. Either way, it may or may not be true for a given commitment.

Saban and his staff don't give a shite how the recruiting sites rate and rank players. For all we know, Eboigbe could've been at or near the top of Bama's DL board for months. He might've been a definite take all along. Or maybe he was close to that point and a workout at Bama earned him the green light to commit.

Imo, Eboigbe is a great get. He is very vesatile, quick, agile and physical, like Alfano, and his upside is great.

4-star DE Justin Eboigbe 6-5/263 (GA) hudl

And I won't feel surprised if Bama adds Young and Tuitele soon and sticks a crimson bow on the DL class.

ETA: When asked if Eboigbe was higher on the board than some "big names" Tim Watts relpied, "I would say he must have been for Saban and staff to take him. They have a lot of very interested kids lined up right now." He also talked to several good sources about Eboigbe and was told his upside is HUGE.
