Btw, the Trussville town name is linked to his relatives' last name.

That name link is not a exactly a positive one.

But him having family in the area might be a good thing for us.

I’d imagine Truss is in a line at OT. A certain elite OT from West Virginia for one.

LINK ]After 2nd visit to AU, 4-star OT will be back for official (247Sports-VIP)

4* OT Xavier Truss 6-7.5/340 (RI) hudl

Truss sounds pretty high on Auburn, like he also did after his first visit there. "I have my top few (schools) down to myself... When I get home I'm trying to sit down and see which games I want to go to (in the fall)." He didn't name his top few schools, but it appears Auburn is one along with Penn State, who may be the team to beat.

I recall that being mentioned in an article or two earlier in the year, but there were no details.

He and his pals were lying on the SECrb about both of us. I try to be polite to Vols fans, since they suffer from Battered Vo11s Syndrome. I remember how frustrated I felt when Bama's admin was screwing up HC hires, keeping the program in the Pit of Misery for so long.

I feel for Tennessee too, but I remember the shite they gave us in the depths of that misery. I won’t let up.

TennStud, JumpMaster and a few others from the old Vilechat board have reaped what they sowed. They had quite the booster network back in those days. Fudd Fulmer, Dickey, and Kramer "played the game" as well as anyone in the modern era (in terms of corrupt programs).

LINK ]247Sports Composite industry update features 4-star moves
quote:

The summer camp season is in full swing and many prospects across the country have already taken full advantage of opportunities to make an impression on coaches and recruiting industry analysts. The resulting prospect rankings updates from the industry continue to shape the 247Sports Composite for the 2019 class.

The moves this week begin near the top in the five-star range with Georgia defensive end commit Nolan Smith moving up four spots to No. 2 overall. Thousand Oaks (Calif.) Oaks Christian defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux hangs on to the top spot. The stock for Daxton Hill, the nation’s top safety prospect, continues to rise as he moves into the top 10 at No. 8.

Five-star safety Daxton Hill.

The in-state Sooners currently have the 247Sports Crystal Ball advantage for Hill over Oklahoma State, where his brother Justice Hill plays running back and broke Thurman Thomas’ freshman rushing record with 1,142 yards in 2016. But Alabama will have an opportunity to make an impression on Hill as he is set to take the first official visit of his recruitment to Tuscaloosa this weekend.

Dean Chuck Karr (to the far left in the above picture where everyone is wearing hard hats) is arguably the best recruiter on campus. If you ever get a chance to meet him/hear him speak I would recommend it.

LINK ]2019 Position Rankings Update: Defensive back

Derek Stingley Jr.
quote:

There are numerous teams who have loaded up already at defensive back, but many of the top cornerback and safety prospects remain uncommitted.

Next week, No. 1 overall prospect Derek Stingley Jr. will make his commitment, with LSU, Florida and Texas as the finalists. In early July, fellow five-star cornerback Chris Steele is expected to announce his choice, with USC, Oregon, Florida and others involved. Five-star safety Daxton Hill has Alabama, Ohio State and Oklahoma high on his list.

Here is a look at teams that have already locked in impressive commitments at defensive back and a group of teams that could load up in the coming months leading up to National Signing Day.

TEAMS TO WATCH: OHIO STATE, ALABAMA, FLORIDA, LSU

Maybe no team nationally has an opportunity to load up like Ohio State -- if everything falls coach Urban Meyer’s way. Three-star Bryson Shaw is the lone Buckeyes commit in the secondary so far, but four-star defensive backs Adonis Otey and Woodi Washington out of Tennessee are both high on Ohio State. Another player to watch is new five-star safety Daxton Hill, who is high on Oklahoma, Ohio State and Alabama at this point.

Speaking of the national champ, Alabama already has commitments from four-stars cornerback Christian Williams and Brandon Turnage, but the Crimson Tide could be far from finished in the secondary. Four-star safeties Jaylen McCullough and Noa Pola-Gates are two names to watch, and there could be many more in Alabama’s recruiting haul.

Two SEC schools with a tradition at defensive back should also be closely watched. Top targets for Florida include five-star cornerback Chris Steele and four-star cornerbacks Kaiir Elam and Chester Kimbrough, among others. At LSU, the big fish is No. 1 overall prospect Derek Stingley Jr., who is right there in Baton Rouge. He is a “must-get” prospect for coach Ed Orgeron. Four-star cornerback Devin Bush from New Orleans Edna Karr is also a top priority.

Note: As usual, Rivals is again showing their anti-Bama feelings. They don't even mention safety commit DeMarcco Hellams or Bama being in the mix for Nick Cross and Jeffery Carter. Smh.
