Steve Wilfong CB'd D.J. Dale to Bama. Didn't know he was a take given our standing with other DL targets. Then again, maybe we'll take more than 6 DL this class?

Maybe he's gotten a scoop. I could see Bama taking 7 DLs. Bama3714 said yesterday that he thinks Bama might even take 8 DLs.

Tyson might not need or use a scholly and be classified as a walk-on, enabling us to sign 27 besides him.

ETA: Wiltfong didn't go into details -- "I was told this weekend's visit was strong."

Truly love this, and apologies in advance for being a beggar and a chooser, but I have a small suggestion: separate it into interior DL, edge players, and inside LBs. I see a lot of NFL draft analysis like that and think it's a good idea. Anyway, I'll shut up now.

I had anticipated us taking 5, and then with word that we feel good about Ika, I pushed it to 6. I could see us signing 7 if we only land Devonta Lee at WR.

Great suggestions that I've actually already considered. There are issues though. There's a post size limit and that post is right up against it. The link addresses take up a lot of space. Luckily, the 247 and hudl link addresses for the players have unique #s in them. That allowed me to cut the players names out of the addresses to save space and the links still work. There's not enough room left to add but a few characters of text without reducing the number of players.

The other thing is this. Bama likes versatile DLs that may to be able to play both DT and DE and versatile LBs that may be able to play multiple LB positions. Generally speaking, the LBs listed as DE are primarily Jack prospects and the shorter LBs are primarily ILB prospects. Some of the LB prospects may potentially play both Jack and Sam, some may potentially play Mike, Will and Sam, some may potentially play all four.

Siaki Ika's parents actually live in Tonga, but they made the trip to Tuscaloosa for the game today.

That's 6,873 miles away. 2,500 miles further than Hawaii.

Sounding like we may have misjudged and that I moved DJ too far down on the list.

I think we may have misjudged the number of DL we are taking. I also think we were pretty spot on with our assessment of his place on the board.

The "insiders" on BOL are saying we aren't done for the day.

So many variables. It's like we've discussed, Bama can afford to only take Lee at WR/HB and no other WRs & TEs in order to load up on DLs & LBs. And Turnage is a good WR & DB prospect.

I won't be satisfied until we can get enough Polynesians to do the Haka dance before the game

Please let it be Sopsher. The corndog melt will be tremendous. Then it's just a question of how long it takes before he develops character concerns or his grades suddenly become so bad he couldn't even get into a JuCo.
