I had a cousin that was really high up in the forest ranger services. He was able to get us a German shepherd that had flunked out of some sort of training on one of the bases. He was an awesome dog. We had 26 catfish ponds on our farm and the dog would patrol them each night. He was poisoned with hamburger meat laced with battery acid by a pos who was sneaking onto our property, stealing fish, and selling them at a small store.

LINK ]Where the Top 10 Running back recruits are heading (247Sports | segments)
quote:

Every college football team is looking for an impact true freshman, and the running back position is full of potential in the Class of 2019.

With the Early Signing Period gone and National Signing Day officially a week away, it is time to look at which schools landed the best future running backs in college football.

The top rankings for running backs go by the industry-generated 247Sports Composite score for all prospects. The list includes running backs, all-purpose backs and fullbacks combined into one Top 10 ranking.

As running backs like Damien Harris, Josh Jacobs, Miles Sanders, Bryce Love and Elijah Holyfield move on to the NFL, it is time for the next wave of talent.

Here is a final look at the running back position and which teams won big in the 2019 class.

1. TREY SANDERS: ALABAMA

Measurables: 6-foot, 214 pounds

247Sports Composite: 5-star (0.9963), No. 6 overall prospect.

Evaluation: A sturdy running back with powerful legs and a body capable of handling pounding the position takes on every carry. One of the most college ready bodies at the running back position in the 2019 class. Able to deftly make defenders miss in the hole and turn short gains into big runs. Nimble feet, impressive jump cuts, and vision to go with the strength to break tackles and push the pile. Comfortable as a pass catcher, making him a well rounded weapon out of the backfield. Concerned he is already physically maxed out prospect with limited upside to what he is currently. An impact player at high-end Power 5 level and future NFL draft pick, with early round upside.

NFL Draft Projection: First Round

Pro Comparison: Jordan Howard, Chicago Bears

How are we finishing next Wednesday?

1) RB - Keilan Robinson (commit)
2) DL - Byron Young (commit)
3) LB - Khris Bogle (commit)
4) LB - Henry To'oto'o
5) DL - Sopsher (Fuller, Sorrells, Pickering)
6) TE - Brett Seither

#1-4: I feel pretty confident. Heimuli likely to UW. Bama vs LSU for spot #5. Pickering's tweets say he'll stick with MSU. Bama vs UGA for spot #6.

Henry To'oto'o -- Greg Biggins (247 West region) changed his CB from UA to UT with the Tosh to Browns news. He changed it to Cloudy tonight.

Rivals-VolQuest guy Austin Price said today that UT may not do their Thursday in-home visit with To'oto'o, and instead focus on closing with their backup target Chistopher Russell.

I agree 100%. Especially on the defensive side of the ball, this class is great! Thank God for early signing period, because of all of the staff turnover no telling who would've "not stuck".

If Pickering signs with Bama I won't be surprised.

I may be alone in this, but I’d rather get Pickering than Sopsher, though I’d be happy with either as long as we hang onto Young.

He says he doesn’t worry too much about measurables. I remember an interview with Ronnie Cottrell when he was on staff. He said back then they focused highly on the measurables; height, weight, length, etc. I think his specific words was football was a game of geometry.

4* LB Quandarrius Robinson 6-4/207 AL hudl

Auburn commit, visited Bama twice in Nov and for Junior Day on Sat. CB'd to UA by Hank Tues.

Update: Robinson decommitted this morning.

"I put in a Crystal Ball prediction for Alabama after I published the interview yesterday. Seems that's the direction it's trending right now, but he's not going to rush into another decision." ~ Hank

I wonder if he's a take considering we seem to be in good position with Grimes and Smalls.
