Posted on the Rant. Results were predictable; the L8U fans love to down vote anything Bama:

Been there (skunked in a NC game) once before. Bama/Nebraska; Orange bowl, New Years day, 1972. I was a grad student at the time. We survived then; we will now. Bama's even managed to win a few games since then.

The solution to Clemson seems obvious. They have now won 3 NCs; one under Danny Ford, 2 under Debo. Just don't let them hire former Bama players as HCs.

Savion will/would be a better S than CB.

Next year, I actually LOVE our talent back there if we can actually keep people healthy (who am I kidding? It's Alabama.. a couple of these guys will be out for the year by game 4), even if Deionte goes pro (he's not ready, but he probably will go).

CB- Surtain
CB- Diggs
S- McKinney
S- Savion
Nickel- Carter
Dime- Jobe

And maybe Jobe is ready and beats out Savion.

With JAD and Eddie Smith coming up quickly, and Mayden available. Not to mention the freshmen.

We'll be MUCH better at DB with or without Deionte, unless we're decimated by injuries, which always seems to be a big issue in recent years.

Terrell Lewis
Chris Allen
Vandarius fricking Cowan

Losing these guys really changed the way Bama played defense this season in my opinion. We were not multiple at all and it really showed up against Clemson.

I just don't understand why Jobe wasn't worked into the rotation more once Diggs went down. Especially in the blowouts. Smith has been a liability at corner from the jump.

LINK ]Recruits standing behind Tide after title game loss (BamaOnLine)

Justin Eboigbe
quote:

Alabama fell to Clemson on Monday evening in the College Football Playoff National Championship in a very uncharacteristic outing for the Crimson Tide under Nick Saban.

Despite the loss, Bama still holds the No. 1-ranked recruiting class in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, and has a chance to put a stamp on an all-timer-type class come February 6.

The Tide signed 24 of its commitments in the Early Signing Period, many of which are already on campus. Those signees along with several other of Bama's commitments and top targets going forward reacted to outcome on social media and with BamaOnLine.

Here's what they had to say:

Tough loss but we’ll be back next year! #RollTide

Alabama has dipped into South Florida often in recent recruiting cycles, and did so again this time around adding the talented defensive lineman back in October. The 4-star defender from powerhouse St. Thomas Aquinas signed with Bama last month and will enroll this summer.

FOUR-STAR S DEMARCCO HELLAMS -- ALABAMA SIGNEE

A whole lot of talk for teams and players that’ll never be here. We’ll be back soon, but y’all already know that. #RollTide

Alabama signed one of the nation's most versatile players in Hellams. The 4-star safety had a stellar senior season this past fall and when Mike Locksley, his primary recruiter, was hired by Maryland, rumors circulated that he may flip to the Terrapins. Hellams stayed true to his commitment and made it official with the Tide last month. He will enroll this summer.

Things happen in football but it’s still #RollTide

The Tide got a lot of production out of its tight end position with Irv Smith Jr. this season. Clark will look to continue that success when he makes his way to campus in 2020.

Everybody tryna throw in they lil 2 cents about Alabama. It’s football things happen. ROLL TIDE 4L #RollTide

It may have been an ugly loss on Monday, but Moore isn't concerned about the trajectory of the Tide. The 4-star corner is coming off an All-State junior season and will be a big piece to Alabama's success in the secondary down the line.

FOUR-STAR DL JUSTIN EBOIGBE -- ALABAMA SIGNEE

Next Year #RollTide

Alabama may lose a good chunk of its defensive line this offseason to the NFL Draft. Eboigbe, along with others the Tide signed in the trenches, will have the chance to step in and compete for early playing time. The Georgia native is expected on campus later this week to enroll.

FOUR-STAR OLB HENRY TO'OTO'O

Alabama is working to sign at least one more inside linebacker in it's 2019 class and To'oto'o is the primary target. The Concord (Calif.) 2020 4-STAR DT JAYSON JONES -- ALABAMA COMMIT

One of the Tide's top-rated commits for 2020 isn't concerned about the loss:

"Bama's dynasty isn’t over. We learn from our mistakes."

It’s still Roll Tide!

One of the Tide's top commits that opted not to sign early, Young has continued to reaffirm that he is 100 percent committed to Alabama. The Mississippi native plans to take visits this month before signing on Feb. 6.

FOUR-STAR CB JEFFERY "SCOOBY" CARTER -- ALABAMA SIGNEE

This 2019 class is going to bring the natty back home. I promise!!!!!!

Alabama has signed back-to-back elite defensive backs groups in both the 2018 and now '19 cycles. Carter is one of the more electric defensive backs available this year and the Tide was able to flip him from Texas A&M during his official visit last month.

2020 5-STAR CB DWIGHT MCGLOTHERN

Alabama sits high atop the list of contenders for the 5-star cornerback early on. McGlothern has made more than one visit out to Tuscaloosa throughout his recruitment and will likely be back this spring. When asked his thoughts and whether this kind of loss could hurt Bama for him ...

"Nope. It's football."

Don't kill the messenger here. But Jobe was known as "not the brightest of bulbs" (as I've seen it put several times) that would take a bit to understand the system. The fact that he even saw the field a lot as a freshman makes me question that info, though. At any rate, he has big-time talent.

LINK ]One-on-one with Alabama commit Khris Bogle (BOL | embedded video)

quote:

SAN ANTONIO — While in the Lone Star State of the 2019 All-American Bowl, 247Sports sat down with many of the nation's top high school football players for a quick, one-on-one conversation.

With this interview being conducted prior to his game day commitment to Alabama over Tennessee and Miami, Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Cardinal Gibbons four-star defensive end LINK ]Khris Bogle spoke about a limited number of topics.

He discussed the wildest game day atmosphere he has ever been a part of, the school that was in it early but "blew it," something most people don't know about him, the most annoying fanbase on Twitter, the first offer he received and his reaction, and one thing he'd change about his recruiting process.

Per the 247Sports Composite Rankings, Bogle is listed as the No. 57 overall player in the country, No. 3 weak-side defensive end nationally and No. 7 prospect in Florida for the class of 2019.

I agree. Losing two of our best outside linebackers before the season even started killed us. We need to develop the young guys faster
