I thought Najee was extremely overrated coming out of high school.

I'd say so, dude is legit and being from Bradenton originally, he is one of the most talked about dudes i've heard in a while from the highschool coaches there.

Najee has all the tools, think he was overranked, but he absolutely potential wise was the #1 back, just not nearly as polished as the rankers seemed to think he was.

He also said he thought Meyer was better because he recruited nationally. Obviously he knows nothing about Saban's recruiting.

Najee was overrated as the #2 overall recruit and #1 RB (or #2) but he's still been really good. If you had to re-rank I'd say Taylor, Etienne, and Swift would all be above Najee and Cam based on how they've played to this point.

Ball in his hands in the open field, Najee is the best RB in the country. He doesn’t possess break away speed I don’t think and isn’t super versatile or a great blocker. As a complete back I would agree. But as a straight up runner, he’s the best in CFB

I don't know if I'd go that far but I agree with your premise that he's a really good ball carrier without breakaway speed. Also takes a little time to get up to speed, so he doesn't hit the holes as quickly as a guy like Jacobs or Damien.
